8:15 aces are designed after the stage 3 indy. Stage 7 was triangle like a venture, while the stage 3 was thin and elegant. Sorry to do this, but facts are facts. Great video!

Another thing about ACE's is that the wheelbase is shorter and theyre a bit taller than Indys(at least on my setup) I can ride 60mm wheels on 44s(Bones bushings with two washers on each set) and an 8.0 and still do "tech" stuff. Biggest wheels I can ride on indys are 56mm(same bushing setup) and have trouble doing what I can do on the ACE setup. Side Note: I rode Independent baseplates with ACE hangers for awhile(little over a year) because the ACE baseplates had shitty pivot cups.

Facts are facts- where are you picking up stage 3 indys these days? The new 12’s suck ass, the stock bushings are junk and indys metal are not the same as they used to be. So state that they are “based” off the best thing Indy ever did and did away with. Aces are #1 in 2021

@@MrLooseCheeks standard Indy are 55 mm tall standard Ace used to say 52mm now the site says 53mm Don’t know if now that the AF1 is out and it’s 53 they are now trying to say the Ace classics are 53 too so they don’t piss off anybody , who gots the real facts on this shit cause my AF1 do seem a smidge taller, anyhow Ace rule , that turn and that grind are better so Indy is starting get salty

@@MrLooseCheeks Super important info! Based on specs I woulda thought the indy was taller at 55mm and therefore better for bigger wheels. Is it the different geometry you think? Cause the Ace AF-1 is listed at 53mm tall right?

As I won't be able to skate in the next few months, I was cleaning and fixing my skate. From old parts I made a "skinny" setup: 8.06 Crooked, F4 tablets around 50, spitfire burners and as Venture from the twentieth century don't turn I bought ACE 44 classic. This was to motivate me to kill it in the physiotherapy to recover ASAP.

I recently started skating bigger boards. I went from an 8.25 to a 9, and from there to a 9.25. When looking at options for a larger truck I ran across the Ace 55 highs. They boast a 9" axle and a bit higher seat and a slightly less dense design that allowed the larger board to weigh a bit less and sit a touch higher off of the ground. This maximized pop and made a large board maneuverable doing flip tricks. I feel like they quickened the board response somehow. Now....these things are BUTTERY!! They grind just about anything! The turn radius is unmatched!! The only complaint I have is, there is a level a bushing blow out I haven't experienced with some other trucks, but, easy fix. Bushings are cheap! Did I mention I've ridden indys for 20+ years? Ace trucks are also a little more than half the price of independents. I'm sold. Ace is my truck of choice at this point.

Damn guys. I’m really curious to try these trucks out. Back into skating for last couple years. Started off with an 8.0. Then 8.25. Thunder 147s skated mostly flat. Now I like to skate transition and flat mostly. Im up to an 8.75 and that feels like a sweet spot for me board wise. I got Indy 159 standards on that set up now. It’s a heavy sucker. Im wondering if I should give Aces a shot next go.

having a more loose truck that turns well allows you to land trick better and easier. When the truck is tight, the momentum of your body is going in one direction, but depending on how your board lands, the momentum can be trying to pull you in that direction. When the trucks turn, you ride out of it so much easier. It has been a game changer for me. Good content Zack! also, are following kneesovertoes ? He will bulletproof your knees so you can skate FOREVER. I do his exercises all the time. ps ACE RULES

I've been on Ace 44 Classics for ~10 months now, after 10+ years on Indys. The main feature I like is, I can run them looser than Indys and yet get less wheel bite with the same size wheels/height. On Indys I was getting wheel bite just doing BS 5-0s on transition. The only downside to ACE for me is durability; I am going to grind to the axle way sooner than I would on Indys.

I bought a dead dave heroin deck, the 10" (mutant shape) but yeah, I already had a pair of 215's on my 10" black label, so I asked the dude at the shop what he thought I should try on the new board, I didn't absolutely need to get trucks, but I was down to try the new Ace AF1's I have skated since then, I ended up getting a pair of 77's and 66's because I like anything from 159's -215's, so yeah I had heard that they were dropping and that they were supposed to be more durable and had a few upgrades, I skate a lot of curbs, lots of Slappy smith's, lots of slash grinds, just a lot of grinds in general, I was actually pleasantly surprised that they actually do seem to be more durable, I like the feel of the grind, I could immediately feel a difference, I have skated a couple sets of the Ace Classics and expected the same feeling, but yeah I was surprised, not in a bad way, they're definitely harder though and more durable, and I am speaking from more than just feeling, I love grinding crusty gnarly concrete and love that Satisfying feeling I get smashing through the crust, smelling the curb burning, haha. I think that the durability was the only thing I didn't like, but yeah, I feel like I can trust the new AF1 Ace's, and for anyone who would prefer to stick with the classics it looks like they plan on keeping em around.... So I think that it's a win win for everyone, not going to bullshit anyone though, I love my Indy's, but if Ace makes an inverted kingpin truck and starts offering 8.75's and 10's along with the other sizes I might start to favor one over the other, haha. I really like the mid baseplates with stage 11 hangar's, I have all the sizes I ride in Indy with inverted kingpins, haha. I love em, I think that I might try to put a pair of Krux DLK's in my new Ace's, and see how it feels, IDK though, that'd be an expensive fuckup if something doesn't work out, haha.

I have tried a lot of trucks and skated indys for most of my time that I have skated (about 7 years). I tried out Thunders and they are a much more stable truck. I prefer them for my style of skating over the other big 2 (the big 3 is indy, venture, thunder) I can manual longer and find the sweet spot easier when I ollie or flip into a manual on a manny pad. I also have an easier time landing flip tricks with them. Only thing is they don't grind as good as an indy. especially on concrete ledges

If your set of Aces are the new AF1s, they will take a little bit to properly break in and not wheelbite as bad. When i first got my set, i was riding them with 56s and 1/8th risers and still was getting some bite but after a weekish they stopped doing that, while still being very loose and not wheelbiting as much as my old Indy 149s. Fastforward 6 months and I’m using the Aces with 57s and no riser, slightly tighter than they were before but still no wheelbite issues

When I was skating, I had a couple of set-ups with Ace trucks. The principal argument was, of course,... 1. the dogmatic, "it isn't Indy..." and also... 2. It is just a re-engineered Indy stage II truck (which initially appealed to me because I preferred the aesthetics of the stage II, and stage II geometry is fine). 3. the old argument that the hangers would bend (they didn't). Ace makes good trucks. Indy makes good trucks.

You’re just gonna get run over by some hardo. I mean there’s not even like a 20 foot space to practice your flat ground tricks. It’s like you can only go there to rip transition and then basically leave. I see a trend where parks are abandoning literally any flat ground space in lieu of “flow”.....and its like word.... guess I’ll skate in my driveway or parking lot and get kicked out instead

Have you gone back to Indys? I was wondering why ACE doesn't make hollow trucks though ? I think I'm getting 169 forged hollows skating 159 standards now. Do you compare this ace to a standard Indy as far as weight ??

When I first started skating I really loved Silvers because they had a cap on the nuts that would prevent the axel from wearing down quickly. Then I've been switching between Indy and Thunder. Curious to try Ace now 👀 thanks brotha!

Ace trucks, unlike Indys stage 11, turn like very old Indys. It's not everyone's taste but lately I enjoy extremely loose trucks with a sharp turning and for that Ace then Indys are the best I have tried. Let's see how long they last.

Tracker B2 where my first trucks. They where the cheapest and they served me well. I think they are based on Indy🤷The axle came loose, the kingpin broke a few times, but I kept skating them. Then switched to independent. When I went up to 8.5 switched to thunders. The only thing they had in the shop back then. Switched back to independents because I like the way they turn. But to be honest I don't feel a lot of difference. Less wheelbite because of the height. Now I'm waiting on film trucks to arrive. First EU trucks, and I'm curious. Maybe try those?

Off the shelf indy, if upgraded then Ace for me...The "white" stock bushing in the Ace truck is garbage, it started falling apart and getting binded almost right away I never had that issue with the "yellow" stock indy bushings, also the king pin in the Aces stick out, atleast for me(maybe I tighten more than other skaters) and get in the way for smooth grinds. So I didn't give up on them I put in some Bones hardcore bushings and got my grinder and took some material of the king pin and perfect!!!, they did feel better than my indys after mods, also don't know if it's in my head but the Aces feel lighter.

@@ZackDowdy ah 215s such an amazing truck. ride em on my transition setup so cant verify how they do for slappys. but hear people love em for it so must be good. my only issue is that finding a deck that fits them can be challenging. a lot of shaped decks taper too much where the trucks are. but looks like the deck you got will fit nicely.

So former Indy employee goes and tries to best Indy at its own game, by taking a Indy design from years ago and redesigning them. Ace may get some market share, there is no shame in being second best, and it can be quite lucrative. Edit: No hate to Ace, all good luck and vibes to them.

I got Aces cuz u ride loose and heard they were carvy. The stock bushings are insanely hard, and trying to use shorter, normal bushings has been disastrous. Anyone else found Aces to be entirely not carvy and way too tight even with the bolt falling off? I even bought a new set of their bushings in case it was a fluke.
@seblo8462
@seblo8462 3 жыл бұрын
Yea bro same issue, that white stock bushing is garbage, use bones hardcore bushings that's what I did and it makes a big difference but yea I thought they would be carvy loose but no lol, they feel better a little tighter for more aggressive street skating, for more carvy skating the Indy 159s feel best for me even does Thunder 151s feel like they carve more, the only benefit I see with Ace trucks is that they so feel light and grind smooth.

Out here the reason to switch to Ace trucks is simple: A set of ACE AF1 = ~70-80 A set of Indys = ~90-120 Same reason I don't ride Spitfire wheels, the prices are just insane.

AF1 77s are awesome. My son and I have a few sets of classics and they’re just better than Indys. Independent was good in the 80s but they’re just a hype-lifestyle brand today and their trucks aren’t awesome anymore. Ace are hands-down the best trucks I’ve skated since stepping onto a board back in the late 70s. An acquaintance of mine described them as the most stable loose trucks you’ll ever ride. It was stage 3 and I believe Joey is Raven’s uncle.

Ace bushings are garbage for heavier riders. Split first day. I swapped them back for Indys w fresh bones bushings. I think the cost of the black takes away from quality somewhere else. I rode Tracker as a kid. Some retro memorabilia right there. Don't see them much these days.
