@@FlashlightEnthusiast i think this is because floodlight and spotlight are almost the same and acebeam choosed strange output regimes for that, so people not intersted in that. Its like sofirn hs20 - not great light, but sofirn hd15 is one of bestseller.

Hi Flashlight Enthusiast, what if you restart the light after the 2 hour stepdown started? Does it revert back to higher output, or starts at the decreased level? Thanks

Hi, as it uses the linear driver, it will not boost the output as the battery discharges. So after 2h If you reset the light, it will provide max brightness at this moment, yet lower than at 100% battery

Thanks for the response. For me, this curve doesn’t look like a linear driver, otherwise how can it maintain (even increase a bit) brightness for two hours? When I first looked at it, it seemed like a conscious decision on Acebeam’s side. I may be wrong

Pozdrawiam serdecznie

I agree... not worth it. That's some pretty mediocre output sustainment, I'd expect better from Acebeam. Maybe their mistake was the dual-flood LEDs or going with the SST20 instead of something else? I do appreciate the warm white temp though, it's so much nicer for a headlamp than cool white. I'd like to see how the beam profile and output data of the Fenix HM65R-T stack up to this. It also does flood/spot simultaneously in the 18650 form factor. MSRP is higher, but street price is pretty much equal.

Oh and thanks for the review, of course! Very helpful. I was considering this as a new MTB helmet light, but was waiting to see what the graphs looked like in real world use.

Hi @Sentinel7, I have both the Fenix HM65R-T and the Acebeam H50 2.0 along with many other headlamps. One of my favourits is the Acebeam. The Fenix has a time step-down built in, which I hate. The Acebeam doesn’t look good on paper, but the output reduction is temperature based. With a fan even on lowest setting turned on close to it, dramatically increases higher output durations based on my tests. The only problem is that the sensor only adjusts the light output one way. While so many lights increase brightness once they cool down (Nitecores for example) the Acebeam has to be switched to the desired mode again. If there was a way to increase the temp threshold by 5-10 degrees celsius (or disable the sensor 😅 ) it would really be one of the best headlamps. The beam profile is actually very good, I think better than most. Some say that the spot is similar to the flood beam, but it’s not entirely true. The spot also has a nice spill, so walking and running is easy, as you also see the stuff in front of you. If you want big difference between the two beams, go with the Fenix or the Cyansky HS6R for example. Hope I could help.

Nice video; thank you so much, but I will not buy it. I expected a little better from Acebeam, as they do have great products in general This one is a fail.

I think that this particular model is not worth buying. Yes, it is nice-looking and has intuitive UI. But the performance is awful and no stabilization. I think that the reason is that Acebeam used AMC7135 instead of usual for them high efficient constant current driver.

Is it sustainable output, beam profile, linear brightness decrease or sth else?
