Hi!
No music. No talking. Just work.
If you are taking your ACER 5517 laptop apart be careful and wear an anti-static wrist band or use other anti-static device. If you need to change a LCD usually you don't have to take screen out of a laptop. You can leave it on a laptop and watch the last part of the video where I am taking LCD apart. If you need to change a keyboard, you don't have to take all bottom screws out. There are usually some marks, like a keyboard picture, on a case bottom. If you need to put a laptop back to work be aware of screws. They are different and you better remember or mark them somehow to insure that you will put them back in to a right place.
Some laptops I take apart first time, so don't be serious on my time and performance.
If something got broken - ooops, it's your fault.
Believe me, some parts in your laptop are already broken, you just don't see that.
So, just watch this video and fix your laptop.
Have fun and good luck!!

P.S. There is no reassemble video - that's why I have created a special channel for Backwards Playback Support for
each video that is missing reassemble. It is not the best possible solution obviously but better than nothing.
Find a link at the end of each video. #recycling #recycle #upcycling #zerowaste #sustainability #reuse #environment

Thanks for making this video, I was a little intimidated to do it because my DC jack was broke and I needed to re-solder a new one in place. The disassembly was the hardest part, but this made it super easy

Mike Johnson . The owner didn't want to get a different laptop and the cpu only cost about $14.

some dude probably made a fortune figuring out how to add twice as many screws as necessary. now i have to desolder the CMOS battery and wait half an hour before soldering it back and hoping i didn't screw anything up. anyway, thanks for breaking it down barney style.

Thanks for this! I'm planning to add some thermal paste. Wanted to see how much trouble it is to disassemble it.

regazzz, I want to change my CPU(processor) so I watched this video to see where the processor (Socket S1) is located, and if I'd need to take apart half the computer and risk breaking small computer parts, or if it's just under the keyboard? Please reply

I got an older accer aspire 5517, I believe the battery was good in it but what happened is when plugged in I was installing windows 7 home on a clean formatted original HHD and at the second step of the installing process where it says 'windows is expanding files' the laptop shut right off, I thought it was part of the process as the installation says it will restart several times during installation but I realized that it wasn't restarting even giving it several minutes also noticed the orange charging LED does not light up at all now while plugged in, power button does nothing I tried this method as shown in this video here a few times and nothing still, if anyone knows about this I'd really appreciate any suggestions and or solutions thanks

I'm having a problem getting the cover off as shown at 6:25. It's acting as if there is another screw. According to the video, it's a latch. However, I've tugged on it, and if I tug any harder, something is going to break.

sounds like you fried it. you should never touch electronics without wearing an ESD strap connected to the chassis ground. it keeps you from zapping the EXTREMELY sensitive transistors. it does this by equalizing the static electricity that's ALWAYS in your body with the piece of electronics. that's why you always have to be connected to it (because you're always generating static).
