Just came to say I have this machine as a spare, an Acer Aspire 5750 and decided to upgrade it. Yesterday I did the SSD upgrades 256 GB SSD (master c: drive) and a 1TB SSD which replaced the DVD. I updated the Bios to latest available version 1.21 and installed 16GB RAM. It's now running W11 23H2 and boots to desktop / login in 4 seconds, the final upgrade will be the CPU.

@@joalissonmaciel1758 Recebi-o como uma unidade sobressalente. É um modelo mais antigo, mas após as atualizações do sistema tornou-se útil novamente. Não vou usá-lo como máquina principal porque tenho um Mini PC, mas estará lá como backup em caso de emergência.

My teacher gave me her laptop (aspire 5750G) because she said she was going to throw it away because in theory it wasn't working no more... I accepted it and i realiced the problem was the battery, it was not correctly placed and it caused an awful working... For the moment i'm working with it perfectly and i have ordered an SSD, 4 more gb of ram and a HDD adapter for replacing the CD reader and give it a second live. FREE LAPTOP :)

After replacing the HDD with an SSD can I install a clean new OS (specifically from Win 7 (Original) to Win 10 (after RAM and SSD upgrade)) using a USB Boot Drive to the new empty SSD without using the old HDD? Answer asap tysm

Yes, you can install clean windows, use the win 7 key (for win7 or 10 while installing) from the sticker, or if the key was in UEFI, it will be entered automatically. Sub, thx.

Question... your 2GB Ram is obviously 1,5V and the 8GB is 1,35V .Have you got any issue or any overvoltage? What is more , both of them are1333MHz ? Did you know if support 1600MHz ?

It's DDR3L, it supports 1,35 or 1,5V (depends on system) 26:00 - 26:05 8GB stick is 1600MHz, and it runs @ 1333MHz 1,5V as this is the maximum supported by CPU. 2GB stick is DDR3 1,5V 1333MHz Subscribe, thank you :)

Cpu is in the socket, so yes you can upgrade it. But it depends on the chipset, if onboard HM65 (check with cpuZ or aida64) you can add something like i5-2450M (looks like it was released with this CPU, so BIOS should support it) Subscribe, thank you :)

you can install an i7-2760qm processor in this laptop, and so that there is no overheating of the power supply circuits of the motherboard and the power supply, it is better to use the processor with the turbo boost turned off, at a base frequency of 2.4 GHz. I measured in a stress-test that without a turbo boost, the TDP of the processor is 27w, temperature maximum 79*С - this is normal for a motherboard. You can buy cheaper i7-2670qm, i7-2720qm, but their frequency is lower - 2.2 GHz.

Vienas zmogus isidejo i7 - 2760qm cia jo pastebejimai: I installed i7-2760qm and tested it with AIDA 64 stress test for 40 minutes (items "stress CPU", "stress cache", "sistem memory", "stress GPUs") with turbo boost enabled. The processor temperature was maximum 82*C, TDP 31W, fan 3800-4000 rpm approx. but the processor only worked at 2.7 GHz instead of 3.3 GHz. The motherboard has only 2 power phases and there is not enough current for the processor to overclock to maximum. In principle, the cooling coped and the temperature was not critical, but there was a very hot power supply unit and probably the motherboard's power supply circuit too. It is clear that such loads on the processor in normal use of the laptop are rare, and you can leave the turbo boost on, especially when there is no discrete card in the laptop. But I often play and did not want to burn the branded power supply from the loads :). Without turbo boost in the stress test for 30 minutes, the processor temperature is 76*C, the fan is 3200 rpm, TDP 27W. Left off the turbo boost. In games, the temperature is maximum 70*C, the fan is 3200 rpm, watching movies is 50-55*C, the fan is 1700 rpm (you can't hear how it works :) when I read news on the Internet or type in Word, the fan turns off completely, the processor temperature is 42-47*C. Esse seu Pc do jeito que tava antes tem alguns apps que estão abrindo na inicialização. Convém desativa-los. Realmente com sdd é mais rápido, mas o meu com HD de 1TB não é lento desse jeito não. Tá parecendo sistema de 32 bits. O meu aqui é 1TB HDD, 8 GB de RAM e processador Intel core i5 2ª geração. Nao entendi os 10GB de RAM do seu. Só precisa de 8GB que o máximo que a placa recomenda a ser suportado. Tente também fazer o upgrade pro windows 8.1. ele também aceita o windows 10, porem através desse upgrade. Porque nas configurações de hardware de fabrica, o windows 10 trabalha muito lento. O meu funciona com o windows 8.1 Pro e windows 10 Pro.

Este CPU suporta 16GB de RAM 2x8GB, então deixei 2GB e instalei mais 8GB, já que havia 2x2GB. Quanto ao win10, este era um upgrade para uma pessoa mais velha, ele estava acostumado com o win7 (64 bits) e não queria fazer o upgrade para o Win10. Obrigado pelo comentário e não se esqueça de se inscrever :) This CPU supports 16GB of RAM 2x8GB so I left 2GB and installed an additional 8GB, as there was 2x2GB. O meu amigo, eu também achei que não suportava. Arrisquei e instalei duas memorias de 8gb e as duas funcionam perfeitamente. 16gb/rsm. O meu está com i3, proximo passo é passar para i7 e deu.

I am using exactly the same model bought in 2011. Can you replace the wifi module to that supports Wifi 802.11ac? Can you also replace the bluetooth module?

You can use any 1333MHz-1600MHz DDR3 or DDR3L SODIMM memory for an upgrade. Kingston is a good brand, as well I like crucial. Offtek - looks like it's an OEM memory supplier for notebook manufacturers, it should be OK too. I would advise you to replace the HDD with an SSD first, this will have a stronger effect on speed than upgrading the RAM. Or do both at once :)

@@MindaugasJocionis he Kingston seller gives a 6-month warranty and it is in Venezuela where I reside, while Offtek offers it unlimited, if you don't find it, they change it ... the point is that it is in Spain; I would have to pay the freight which is 20 Euros. GPU is soldered to the motherboard, or integrated into the CPU, depends on the model, so you cannot upgrade GPU. As for CPU, it depends on the chipset, if onboard HM65 (check with cpuZ or aida64) you can add something like i5-2450M (looks like it was released with this CPU, so BIOS should support it). I play old games from 2006-2014 and the processor warmed up to its maximum 85*C and the fan was running at 4800 rpm. In KZfaq and watching movies 60*C and the fan worked at 3500 rpm.
