I know this is late. But I've looked all over to find any video on KZfaq or anywhere else that shows the inside of my Nitro 5 model (AN517-42-R5KZ). I want to see what to expect when I open it up to clean the fans and repaste in a couple of weeks, as well as do upgrades in the near future. I've also tried to find out if its internal layout is comparable to any of the SKUs that I have seen; figuring although that might not be perfect, it might be close enough. No luck there either. Help or suggestions...? TIA!

Can I place one 16gb stick of 2666MHz PC4-21300 CL19 Ram in the expansion slot along with the 8gb to make 24gb total Ram or do I have to pair the default 8gb with another 8GB? Thanks for the input!

Better would be to buy two of the same. In dual channel, the RAM is much faster than if you install two different ones.

Can I place 32go DDR4 3200MHZ in it ? Edit : I tested it, and yes, I can 🙂. It improved Hogwarts Legacy and Jedi Survivor.

Did you disconnect the battery unit before installing it or did you just stick in the extra RAM? I’m planning on adding an extra 16GB DDR4 to it but I’m not sure if it is advisable to disconnect the battery or leave it there

Hardly. RAM upgrades for laptops are just snap-in, you just have to find the right kind of RAM stick for it. In this case, 2666-series.

It's IPS on mine an it looks great. I got it for 650 usd so it was definitely worth it.

This is IPS with an option of FHD 144 Hz or QHD 165 Hz. This one is 17.3".

@@SAMxIGRIS If your PCIE is v4 it will work but I do not know if it is forward compatible for example your M.2 slot is only v3 and you want to put v4 I do not know if your PCIE generation 4 M.2 will work. If your M.2 is Generation 3 and you will connect it on a M.2 Generation 4 PCIE slot then it will still work because it is backwards compatible.

@@awakenedsoul2638The slot description says it's m.2 gen 4 slot.. i wanted to add more space and gen4 SSD cost higher.. and there is an offer on gen3 SSD here.. Well so that means I can add a new gen3 SSD on gen4 slot and it will work? Right... Thanks mate 👍👍

I don't think so.. talked to acer some days ago.. max 32gb pc25600 2x16gb 3200mhz xmp or not..
