I have the exact same specs but different model where it does not have the fingerprint reader but the Acer Nitro Sense app shows wrong info like the CPU usage its a huge problem im on the latest version of the software too it always shows 2-5% cpu usage but in task manager it shows about 25%( Real usage) other than that all the temps fan speed are correct very disappointed in the nitro sense software though but really great powerful laptop

Here in Mexico I can get the I7 13th 1TB 16gb RTX4050 for around 900 usd. There's no other options with simmilar specs in this price range. Is this a good deal?

Im going to buy my first laptop for gaming, university and for edition in some cases. Im between the Acer Nitro V 15 with a 4060 anda a i7 12700H and the Gigabyte G5 KF5 with 4060 anda a i5 13500H both 16gb ram. Which option would be the best?? I have a PC with a i5 6600k 16gb ram and a rx 6650XT 8gbs (sustitute of an rx 480 8gbs :) )

This type of cooling is so underated, because you can put cpu and gpu right side keyboard. And left side will be always cool on touch. Other thing what i like here is 2kg weight.

It's easy though with only 135w to cool at max 😅 GPU and CPU combined was around 90w-100w

Here in India I ordered the i7 13th gen model with RTX 4050 for around $1077. The display brightness in this model is 300 nits and around 80% color accuracy.

Bought this laptop from Amazon Refurbished returned it after 4 months of usage wasn't happy with how power limited it was when you play cpu intensive games and bought Gigabyte G5 MF with I7 12650h and rtx 4050 so far my experience is much better than Nitro V thou thermals are definitely on higher side but atleast now I'm happy with the performance.

Just in case, turning off E-Cores in the BIOS is a must to avoid a lot of the CPU throttling. I’m not sure why the Nitro 5 has E-Cores enabled by default.

@@pacheco2852 Been mostly playing Valorant and Wuthering Waves with it and it's been very great. Can run those games at the highest settings. Haven't tried other games yet.

Well to be honest... It's not good. Depends alot on what you expect and how picky you are. With monitors my opinion is that most people don't care that much or can't really tell the difference, but objectively it's not good.

It’s adequate for gaming but not video production. Fairly responsive but the blacks do not get black and when the whole screen is set to black you’ll see backlight bleed. But for most things you won’t notice it…it’s about the visual quality we had 10 years ago which is ok. But if looking for more modern crispness spring for a laptop with a QLED or other type of LED display rather than LCD

I have LG 22MP55 as external monitor. Both screens are IPS, but LG is much more better. I think notebook display will be enough for gaming and content consumption, but if you want something more - you can always buy used good monitor and have it as second screen. It's not expensive (mine was about $45)

It can work but not on the advance level because ofc u will need to spend more money for a smoother experience but if u can work with a little bit of lag it's good remember u won't get everything in such a cheap price

You want get all of this for 850. You must consider compromises. Also low temps aren't that important if the laptop is performing well. 850$? Which country do you live in? The gigabyte G5 is very much performance for the money, but it's not a great laptop by itself. The msi thin is cheap as well hut absolutely not recommendable. Try looking for LOQ15s or Aorus 15s, or HP Victus or ASUS TUF A or F 15s

@@ovalgon0967 the loq would be the better laptop, while the g5 would still be a bit faster and get you 2gb more vram... it's up to you ;) or save alittle more and get a Gigabyte Aorus 15 with the 4060. MUCH better laptop.

I use this laptop So far,it's not too bad.Quite cheap for a 4050 laptop (especially in Malaysia),way better than msi gf63 & guess what? It's cheaper But of course,this laptop has cons such as the fan noise & speakers

@@pacheco2852 so far,I play ow2,cs2,fortnite and death stranding,it's fine (for newer AAA game,I recommend use lower settings or use upscaling for 60fps+) The cooling system is quite good for a gaming laptop.But the fan noise is very loud (strongly recommend use a headset) Some games can reach 80°C but not for long time,it will drop to about 70 ish

It looks good for a low price. I am a bit worried about the performance of the CPU. The cheapest I can find it here is a bit over 1200 euros, including tax of course, which feels a bit too much for the hardware.

@@rain-nin5309 because in the future newer games will most likely expect more CPU performance and GPU performance. If the GPU is too weak, you can just lower the graphic settings or the resolution. If the CPU is the bottleneck you can't do anything as graphic settings almost don't affect the CPU load at all. And that might lead to stuttering and bad frametimes. Meaning the game isn't enjoyable anymore in the worst case.

Ideally, 90C is fine for CPU, as these chips can go to 100C by design but that doesn’t mean you should. But limiting too low also means you’re not allowing it full performance. For the GPU, Nvidia thermal throttle limit is 86C, so keep it below this temp. Ideally 80C or lower. Under volt your GPU for near stock performance or more but also lower temps

Bro if the screen looks washed out try raising the saturation settings in intel graphics control panel and that should help mitigate the effect a bit😂😂😂

If you have Windows 11, there is a function that is in advanced screen settings, which allows you to calibrate the screen, greatly improving the color and saturation.

Well that really depends on alot of factors: What games you play and how you treat it. I don't know about the laptop itself. Impossible to say. Usually they last 5-10 years without issues. About the performance? Really depends... upcoming triple AAA games will be limited by the small 6GB VRAM of the 4050 and the i5 will probably become a bottleneck in a few years in newer games.

If you plan on keeping it for at least 5 years, make sure you also order replacement fans for it now while they still have them in stock.

Oh how the mighty have fallen... Nitro used to have 4 radiators, 2 on the back and 2 on the sides, so they could easily dissipate 90 watts of heat from the GPU. Heck, my friend has a 3070 ti Nitro 5 which dissipates 150w with dynamic boost. This laptop is... just embarrasing. Thanks for the review!

I actually think the heat dissipation is fine. The cooling system is really fine for this machine :) Also the Keys don't get warm. It's other things I'd worry about... 😅

@@Hubwood yeah but why such low power limit on the GPU? we all know 4050 can go up to 100 watts in well-cooled laptops. I mean it wouldn't give THAT much given it's a low end GPU, but still, would be a noticeable improvement.

@@Hubwood it's also about the positioning I guess. It wouldn't cost them much to add a couple more voltage regulators and put cooling over them, but the laptop is positioned as "The cheapest gaming laptop. Want more performance? Get a higher end model"

Hi Hubwood, i would like to ask. My dell g15 ryzen edition with rtx 3050 ti. My gpu temps always reach at 86*c no matter what games i play. Is it something wrong with my laptop ?

No :) Usually that's fine. Many gaming laptops have such temperatures. In some cases there might be some thermal throttling... but that's the way it is for laptops 🤷‍♂️

@@HubwoodI think you are confusing things here. Yes, for a CPU it’s normal to hit 95-100 degrees C, but for a GPU, as he said, 86 degrees C means it’s throttling. (Nvidia GPUs have their throtthling limit set to 87 degrees C) You could try cleaning out the fans, undervolting the gpu or changing the thermal paste (including the vrm thermal pads). If you’re not confident, a pc service centre will do it for you and it’s not that expensive

@@MarcusAntonius415 you are right of course. I was reading CPU 😅 Yeah for the GPU that's a bit warm indeed and probably means some throttling.

Nice vid, I have been using my acer nitro 5 for like 6 years now lol. I plan on buying another budget one, my budget is 950usd -1150 usd converted. what do you recommend? so far my choices are, Gigabyte aorus 15, the 2023 version one i believe with RTX 4060 i5-12500. and the other one being gigabyte G5 i7-13620H RTX4060 at around the same price.

protip: if you're going to be testing gaming performance, ALWAYS put settings to max and turn dlss off. you can add dlss after but we need a starting point. come on man...

Protip: If you ever run your own KZfaq channel, you will quickly find out that no matter what you do, there is always someone who is complaining. "You have to turn off DLSS!" "Why didn't you use DLSS? We want to see results with DLSS! People will use it!" "Why did you use max settings? That's too high for the 4050!" "Don't use low settings, the CPU will bottleneck!" "Don't use max settings, the Vram is too small" Etc. Always.

Beginner Tip: More people wanna know if a laptop will run a game in mid or low settings as a starting point. Most people buying a budget laptop want to know if that can play most games at all. And do not expect most games to run in Max gfx settings. Your pro tip sounds like you don't know shit about the kind of people buying this kind of laptop. And just wanna see it run on "It'll be dead in a year even if it runs anything" type settings Like cmon maaaaan!

This is a good argument on top end expensive laptops because they are setting the market. People need to know that stuff. This is a entry level gaming laptop and the other end of performance is ALWAYS more important there. As it's more common for a low end laptop to not play something at all or in low gfx. Myself I would be using lower gfx even if I could get them higher to save this device some lifespan.

@@Hubwood was trying to find a good 700usd laptop for a friend I couldn't he either has to sacrifice dedicated graphics for a usable screen (asus zenbook 14 amd oled) goofy name just increase the number you fu#^$%#$- or the 12th gen acer nitro v with a 4050 and a 290 nits display (with a mux switch) or this laptop that has no mux switch and is worse but not worse but worse maybe? idk this is why I don't buy laptops or recommend them it's just everyone trying to scam you in a way and there are so many options with the same specs but some goofy scams hidden in the details that you could only figure out after wasting 4 hours of looking for stuff because they aren't listed.... if only I could swear more on this platform
