Actually Sorin IT8887/IT8987 can work with 1.8V or 3.3V by EC setting. Most eeprom chips nowadays work with 1.8V.

Inspect the mirror pcb with that usb ports you connect with that ribbon cable. Unplug it, test. Maybe the problem is there too.

There is a high chance that if you plugin your usb thermal cam in your pc it will act as a webcam. That way you don't need to use android and you can capture the output and let us follow along.

If you pull the SIO, would checking it's pads tell you if the CPU is dead.

The Acer laptop are likely to be cunning in terms of their fault..

I see manufacturers still don't protect the cpu or io-chip with fuses ,i think they do it so the customer has to buy a new laptop. Shame on them
