I am also an Ace. I wasn't when I was younger, but somehow things changed. It was very confusing for me, yet I try to handle it somehow. Always by myself, always alone, I am already so tired of being alone, but yet kinda beginning to get used to be by myself. Just being alone, because everyone I've met want sex. Something I can't give at this point of my life. I am very lonesome. I don't have any friends, but my heart craves for Her so much, it aches so much. I don't have the self-esteem and the confidence to go out, to flirt, I just stay at home almost all the time, except when I really necessarily have to go outside. Just, if I had a gf, I am alone for so long, I feel.. Just sad;miserable. Alone. 🕸️

I (Jordan-Paige - the writer, director, cinematographer, etc.) am asexual myself, and so I absolutely wanted to make sure asexual stereotypes were not found anywhere in this story, and wanted it to be as genuine as possible. If I were to ever cover other aspects of the asexual spectrum, I would definitely ask for some help, as I am sex repulsed, so I would want to make sure I'd be telling other asexual spectrum stories authentically! @@sadina1348 Thank you! And I'd love to do some more videos on filmmaking advice if there's interest in it! Would it maybe be helpful for me (the writer/director/cinematographer) to do a video on ACES kinda describing the process of how it was made? I've been trying to think of what other videos I could do on this channel since, to be honest, I focus more on screenwriting and don't make many films anymore, so I'll probably be doing a poll question soon to ask if there's anything else people would like to see!

This really hits home. I recently got into my first relationship and after about two months, I finally realized that I am asexual. It really makes sense why I just kind of had this off feeling about sex and even though I had it, I just never wanted it or hoped for it and honestly preferred just spending time with her instead. as an ace lesbian this is such an amazing film to see. I've don't often relate to relationships I've seen on tv but when they were fighting and Phoebe said "would have known to what? not date me?" that is something I've felt and feared a lot. Should I tell girls I date I'm ace at first, or wait? I'm scared they wont want to give me a chance if they know I'm ace. Something I still struggle with. It was cool to see how I feel reflected in this! Great job!

@@JayPayProductions Of course, any relationship is possible, if the right people are involved. In my country they say: There's always a broken for an unbroken. I don't know if it makes sense in English. X) I am now a middle-aged adult, none of this even existed in my youth; especially in a small town. But the new generations are becoming much more open and tolerant. They are working hard to make visible and normalise the right of everyone to be themselves. And the web allows for immediate and worldwide dissemination. I learn every day from young bloggers, youtubers and content creators. And I feel very grateful to all of them. I could say that you have changed my life, for the better, forever. I would like to say to all of you that if someone, friend or partner, doesn't love you as you are, they really don't love you. I watched this short film in 2022, and ever since then it's been in the back of my mind when I thought about my sexuality. Towards the end of 2023, I met someone and fell in love. I only felt romantically towards her and nothing more. I didn't allow myself to understand my sexuality completely until I came face to face with it. I've known that I'm a lesbian for many years now, but I never allowed myself to consider asexuality as a label due to many reasons such as societal pressures. My now ex and I almost did something, but I felt like something was holding me back. A week later she broke up with me. Now, as of 15 minutes ago I now know I'm ace. I'm grateful for this short film and its comfort it has provided me since watching it. I deserve to be loved for who I am and how I love without the sex part.

I’m glad this film and others like it are being made, and that it gives people hope. I want to say it’s also okay not to want to be with someone who is ACE as sexual expression is a big part of who many people are and how they relate in love. (As someone who was in a heterosexual marriage, I know what it’s like to try to bury desire-that is, desire for a same sex relationship, physical and emotional. It tamps down all of your emotions, making you flatter.) Personally, I would love to have a partner; however, my health makes sexual activity next to impossible. That would make an ACE partner who is romantic and loves to just cuddle and be close appealing. However, not too many people want to be with someone who has a debilitating illness and can’t go out and do things with them… cue all the outdoor scenes, the dancing scenes, the skateboarding scenes.

Speaking as an Ace, I really appreciate the message of this film and the positive representation. I’ve gone through exactly this situation in my relationships. With that said, the filmmaking itself was a bit rough, with a lot of 180-breaks and inconsistent audio gaffes.

Glad you enjoyed the film! I’m primarily a screenwriter and had stepped away from filmmaking after going to college for writing, but decided to make one more film to spread this message. So yes, the actual filming isn’t my strong suit, so I don’t focus on it anymore!

I so hope there will be more representation in media sooner rather than later! Thank you for your kind words and for watching the film!
