You're damn right about the funky sound! It's because the rhythm it's a shuffle, very common in blues, swing, jazz and stuff like that. Greetings from Mexico bud!

Love KISS, you're either love them or hate them....not a lot of middle ground with them. Especially 70's KISS is gold.

This is a shortened version. Love the bass and yes, the lead solo was cut short. Love your style.

There is a movie called Detroit Rock City about a group of kids in the 70s trying to get to a KISS concert. It is a comedy but it has actual KISS in the movie and they have a mini concert at the end of it. Also, the soundtrack throughout the movie is bangin'.

Ha! I remember seeing that movie as soon as I read your comment. Hadn’t thought of it in decades. 👍

There is a motown feeling to this song. Gene has admitted the bass line was inspired by Freddy 's dead by Curtis Mayfield.

I've seen Kiss three times in the eighties and nineties I had front row center and Paul Stanley was singing right to me half a foot away❤ I was made for loving you and Rock and roll all night❤

I remember in the 70’s my brother had the Kiss Double Platinum Album and the record was clear or transparent. I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen at that time because every other record I’d ever seen was black. That’s the only reason that memory sticks out in my head. 😂 It didn’t take much to amuse me back then. Actually I’m still easily amused. 😂

This is not the original/original album version (which includes the radio annoucer intro). This sounds like a later re do, sped up and with less weight than the original. The original version is best.

KISS in their heyday, the 70's... please continue on to 70's KISS, sure there was some good 80's and a little 90's...then well..........

Not exactly the original but a remix of the original that lacks the intro and the car crash effects at the end and features alternate vocals.

Did Gene Simmons get enough credit for his base playing...it was always about the look and the tongue. Sure, there were/is better, but he wasn't trash either.

No one can outdo Kiss version. I have heard Tommy's J version. In the 70's this was hard rock.
