Met Randleman in Vegas, one of the NICEST most respectful fighters I've EVER met. Truly a loss that he's no longer here.
@whatyaworkingontoday50182 жыл бұрын
Yes he was! And yes it is! He could have seriously physically hurt many but didn't. I think he was driven by the competition more than the trophies, those were for others around him.

As an almost 40 year old mma enthusiast these were the golden days, maybe just nostalgia at work...

I am of the same opinion :) But I'm not sure it's only due to nostalgia

I didn't watch pride originally. I think it was just great competitors with good promotion and compelling fights. The brutal fighting allowing soccer kicks makes it really feel dangerous. There were a lot of strikers too it seems.

Golden days they were. The ufc never does point reductions for fighters intentionally stalling fights. Pride was much more exciting

@@specialchatter5374 I believe they classified his fighting discipline as freestyle. Meaning he trained on his own, a big hurtle to overcome. All heart and desire. It took giant balls to get into a ring against Kevin, that man made many shit their pants.

Kevin Randleman is the equivalent to a real life HULK.....That (to me) makes Quinton Jackson a real life Superhero....Amazing match on both sides. Fucking amazing. Well done to both combatants. Cheers and hails from America to the Pride association and to the fighters and teams. Wow and congratulations to the winner! RAMPAGE!

Crazy that Jones basically bullied rampage during their fight, because I think both of these men are monsters lol.
@jjmill52092 жыл бұрын
@@trajic9204 Jones on a different level, Rampage definitely a beast to a degree but a bit overrated too because of inconsistencies like getting mauled by Silva twice and Rua on their prime, did dethrone Lidell but he was pretty mediocre in UFC
@trajic92042 жыл бұрын
@@jjmill5209 Yeah, I agree Rampage was inconsistent, even for light heavyweight which was already an inconsistent weight class compared to the lighter divisions (except lightweight).
@davidwanzo99222 жыл бұрын
Quinton was in awesome shape. They don't call Randleman the monster for nothing. Either one of these men can end a fight as quick as the other. Knees we're the factor. They were both prepared. Rampage was faster and more effective. This might not happen every time they'd fight. But the better man won tonight. Salute👏
@aegisreflector12392 жыл бұрын
This was Rampage in his prime. Iv never seen him fight this dynamic.
@jeffgillson2 жыл бұрын
Rampage was a LOT bigger. Randleman should have been fighting at about 185 but he juiced himself to the gills because to make decent money then you had to fight at heavyweight.
@aegisreflector12392 жыл бұрын
@@jeffgillson I agree.
@daniel2131412 жыл бұрын
@@jeffgillson Good point. Rampage was easily 240 to 260 in between fights. I think this fight was 205 which is heavy for Randleman but light for Rampage.
@brians39576 ай бұрын
@@jeffgillson Indeed! Thank you for saying this! An athlete that is naturally bigger will have the skeleton and bone structure that a juiced athelete simply will not have. Yes, Randleman may have weighed as much as Rampage, but he was juiced to the gills and did not have the bone structure to go along with that weight. Look at the grappling exchange between him and Fedor on the ground, yes he slammed Fedor because of his immense explosive power, but on the ground Fedor easily swept him and submitted him. Fedor has a way bigger natural frame ( I have met both of them in person) and that goes a LONG way in strength.

Because he relied too much on his strength and wrestling, Rampage is overall better and know how to block Randlemans tools. Also you could see all that extra muscle mass was making him tired.

@@blitheringrando1410 that was nothing, The Monster always did that. There was something else up with him. He wasn't himself in this fight. Taking nothing away from Rampage, he's no joke. Kevin may have been able to bench and squat more than Rampage, but Quinton may have more of that natural strength that transitions extremely well in fighting. And let's not forget who Rampage has beat. Styles make fights, and I'll always be a bigger fan of The Monster, but Rampage took it to him.
