Regarding blockages, you mention celery and apples could contribute to blockages. Is this due to the food itself or how it is eaten/prepared? Would celery in a soup that is passed through a blender to liquify, would this contribute to possible blockage?

Really good question. So, celery is stringy and tough- it's a food that is recommended not to go into the garbage disposal, for instance. But, celery that's in soup, especially soup that's been through a blender, has probably been boiled and softened enough to likely not cause an issue. For apples, it's really the skin. If you peel an apple, there's a lot less fiber involved. Or if you eat applesauce, that's pretty unlikely to cause a blockage. If you can eat applesauce and blenderized soup with celery without a problem, then try graduating to apples without the peel and regular soup with cooked celery. If that doesn't cause you issues, you can progress to a couple of small bites of apple with the peel, follow it up with a big glass of water and wait a few hours. As long as it's just a couple bites, it shouldn't cause a major blockage, perhaps just a bit of uncomfortableness - and if there are no issues, keep going. Same for the celery. Some ostomates can eat raw fruits and veggies no problem. Everyone is different, and the only way to find out what your body can tolerate is to experiment - but carefully! Best of luck.

Great tips! I do want to say that the camera shaking, which is likely intentional "for effect", is quite distracting; watching this full screen makes me dizzy :(
