U couldn't see the course when he did most of his runs. Road Atlanta is the best place to be at that moment. I loved it...

Crazy I helped load the Achilles trailer loaded the other trailer with the cars and met daigo before he was big out here that was an awesome fucking night..that year he won the drift championship

Keiichi started the Pro series, there were no competitions before Keiichi started the events over in jp, D1 series. Keiichi is the guy who made it popular so to speek, there were ofc people doing it, but not untirely drift as we know it. Rally is one sport that consisted of controlled slides, but it's not about containing it, it's about speed and not the drift itself, it's not wrong to say he is one of the founding fathers....

OK you've got me there, but the fact still stands, they created the whole culture around it in the early 80's (I should of made that clearer)... I'll admit though it's not the first time a RWD car has been sideways in a controlled fashion.

Well... they were sideways... but those rally cars were 4wd, which means they were just power sliding.

i think the japanese gets credit because they were simply pushing their cars to the limit on the touge and started something that evolved into something world wide. on the road no one was drifting. only in japan.

What? "Drifting" has been around well before the 80's. Go look at rallies back in the 50's and 60's. hell, probably even before that. The cars were sliding around everywhere. Of course, then it was just because that was the quickest way to corner on the loose surfaces of the rally courses. The Japanese made drifting into a sport, but they didn't start drifting. There's a reason the Scandinavian Flick was around before drifting.

"Asians" drift so well? More like Japanese. That's like saying Whites are good at Nascar, when It's simply just Americans. Japanese can drift but Asians from others countries aren't impressive at all in drifting compared to other countries.
