In 2017 geophysicist Paul Bauman, (www.paulbaumangeophysics.com) with the assistance of WorleyParsons and several of his colleagues from that firm, in conjunction with the NGO IsraAID volunteered to give a workshop that provided training for marginalized youths through the University of Gulu to use basic seismic technology to locate and hand drill for drinking water in the IDP camps in northern Uganda, as well as install and maintain hand pumps.
