Up and coming superstar doctor April has the perfect life. She works at a prestigious hospital in New York and has recently met a handsome veterinary called Jesse. Things with Jesse couldn't be better. They complement each other on everything, except that Jesse is a bit reserved for his family. On their six-month anniversary dinner. Jesse gives April a surprise trip to Paris! April is thrilled and filled with love by this surprise. However, plans change when Jesse receives an invitation to his brother's wedding. April has no problem and is excited to meet his family finally. What she doesn't know is that Jesse's family is Amish and not so fond of strangers. Now both must travel to Amish Country and introduce themselves to the people Jesse left behind many years ago.

Good movie. As a Muslim, I find the Amish way of life very fascinating. They got many things right. I wouldn't mind living without electricity, cars and devices. We English could learn so much from them. Respect and salaam to the Amish community.

I love Amish movies. I have never been disappointed with one and this was perfect. Brought out all the emotions. Ohhh am cutting onions here😢😂❤❤❤😅😊. I really loved the movie. Jessie is a heart throb and so is April with her red hair. She has such a radiant personality. Thank you for sharing.

Yes, Paris was a stretch, but it seems he had been thinking of marriage all the while. I felt good watching this movie, a balance of drama, believable acting and actual events that could happen today. It has been a long time that I could trust a movie to unite instead of push isolation & violence. This was a joy to watch!

Oh goodness his mother coming for her made me cry ,I had someone on my life used to say his mum would love me and in my mind I always wanted to hug 🫂 wanted to be her daughter instead of daughter-in-law I had fallen in love with her and always wanted her to be my mother because she doesn't have a daughter 😢😢

Thank you for sharing your Amish experience! I didn't grow up Amish but generations from Switzerland and Germany did. The food tradition continued even though the religion did not. My grandmother was the first generation not to speak German. My family went from the Anabaptist to being Dunkards and The Brethren Church. I am very grateful for my heritage and now knowing Jesus as my Lord and Savior. God has brought us into the fullness of the Holy Spirit. How blessed I am.

I liked this movie. I happened to visit one Amish family. I had also visited the town known as 'Intercourse' in Pennsylvania and bought some items Amish community. It is really unique that they live opting out electricity, automobile, and many modern things even though they live in the midst of modernity. I observed that their livelihood depends on agriculture and dairy farming. They are good carpenters too. It is good this movie centres around such a lovely tiny community.

Very beautiful country. it seemed there was a difference in cultures at the first meting of the mother and girl. friend. Things turned out good for everyone. The mother realized that she couldn't control her children's lives and thing turned out good for all of them. Thanks for a very good movie. (Mississippi gulf Coast, USA).

Overall though I will say the family dynamics of this story are very accurate. One part that is absolutely hilarious to me is when they hug each other how they turn their faces the same direction... Honestly, the Amish that I've hugged, and I hugged several... They normally just hug like normal people😂😂😂😂 Also, this mother in this story took some very unusual and dramatic steps to make things right with her children. It is unfortunate that not more actual Amish people do such things. Note I said not more... There are some.

I don’t know much about the Amish community but I thought that they are shunned if they choose the English life? I’m confused, how is he able to come back to his brother’s wedding and walk around shaking hands with community members?

Depends on what kind of Mennonite community it is. And if it’s a midnight branch stuff from the Amish, then it’s not the midnights that I am aware of because the Mennonite community that I’m aware of that’s quite large all over the world is not a branch of the Amish. And it’s true. If you leave, you are shunned if you end up in a relationship with someone else you are shun, you have to realize these are just drama movies and they try to stuff off what they THINK they know..
