I remember Mary and Max from my childhood and, to be honest, I thought the film was very scary due to its eerie and strange nature but as I'm older I can't help but feel the curiosity to watch it again. It's a shame I can't find anywhere to stream it here in Canada. It's truly a masterpiece and one of a kind. Usually stop motion is associated with kid's shows and movies but the plot of this movie and the themes it approached was truly original and at some point quite intense. I wish I could watch it again and finally understand the true meaning behind the message. Cheers to the team who brought this film to life!

Awesome interview! Watched Mary and Max about a year ago. Am currently watching Adam's short films, and really also felt like the outsider a lot of times in life, which is why I think I enjoy his films so much. Look forward to more of his great films!

Is this an "interview" ? I don't think there's an interviewer asking questions... someone just talking to a camera isn't an interview.

I love the idea of claymation there is so much life given to it so much realism it is wonderfully made it is so special and the idea of that using claymation in place of actual people and actors is very well done if you tried to do the same thing using real actors and people the power and the effect on the story just would not be the same keep doing this beautiful great art that you have committed yourself to it is truly wonderful and amazing one of the best things I have ever seen stay safe out there Also a huge thank you to the staff and workers and creators behind all of this movies from the people who are doing the lights and the cameras to the other people who were making the clay models props figures and even holding the boom mic thank you so much for all of your hard effort it is truly appreciated

I just watched it. Loved the humour, the drama parts hit me, and yet even with the ending, I felt relaxed, had closure, even some happiness. my neck has been sore the past afternoon. The suburbia of then seemed more peaceful, but run down, and staid. I hope this doesn’t sound bad. I do not love chocolate as much as either of them (though I do like it), but I liked watching them.

Gotta love the 'hills hoist' in M&M. Hoping the major effort Adam has made will at least pay for osteopathy for major back pain and FFI (Frequent Frame Injury). So well written and recorded Adam! I'm sure many people don't realise the sheer effort involved in doing this.

Just rewatched Mary and Max for the third time. Great movie, and it's not really my genre to begin with. Although there is a problem in one scene: Max when writing the letter to the Mayor had the letter M in his typewriter, but we saw he had thrown it out. This can't be a mistake.

I think it’s great to build empathy with your characters. The question is will those who watch actually carry that empathy to real people who people write off for one reason or another and treat badly and treat people better because that’s what you’re supposed to do rather than doing it out pity and realize people with various things are just as human, have the same feelings and want kindness, not pity and let’s be nice to them not because no one else will and but let’s be nice because you expect the same back. People don’t want condescending pity. People who aren’t treated well don’t want someone to try to be friends with them acting like they’re doing them a favor. They don’t want some savior, they just want to be treated how you want to be treated. Nothing more nothing less and that’s what your characters should convey. Empathy for empathy, not empathy as in we feel sorry for you. Be friends because you actually care. Too many consider empathy as nothing but gentle condescending pity, not empathy because no one should be made to feel less for one reason or another.

@@teodorteisberg8344 They have a Anime Profile picture, it's obvious that they're entire agenda revolves around Anime just by that. The fact they left a comment, ensues that they wanted some kind of praise for their actions, or a retaliation they can laugh at. So that may just be your answer, they wanted attention or something fun to do, no further reason is needed.
