In this video I open the door on Acorn HIll's spring garden. It’s early spring, and I am introducing you to the usual area of my spring garden and property in Acorn Hill, but also to my newest renovation to eat up our expansive lower lawn. I am very happy with the direction Acorn Hill is taking this year. So far I was able to maintain and grow our usual Spring perennials but also introducing new island beds. Its small but perfectly forming into a separate potager garden.

Amazing spring display, and I'm impressed with the color and various pot display. Also, looking forward to see the climbing rose display on the pergola😍!

Your tulips containers are beautiful! Do you have rocks on top of your planter containers ? What type? Do the bulbs grow up through them?

Thanks much. I got those from Home Depot. They’re resin and take outdoor paints quite well. I placed horticultural grit/gravel on top to finish them off. And yes! The tulips came through them

Do you leave the tulips and daffodils in the same pot for next year?

Hi Angela. No. I take them out of the containers. Plant them in the landscape to naturalize. I then fill the pots with other plants. This year I am planning on planting veggies in them - chard, dill and fennel for texture and height. Thanks for checking out my channel and welcome! 😃🧑🏽‍🌾👍🏼

How much sun does your limelight get? Im in Durham, I have 3 limelight prime that I bought last year.

Hi Gracie. Nice to chat with a fellow North Carolinian on the channel. My Limelights get full Sun. It is the paniculata type that doesn’t mind the Sun as long as we water them directly. Thanks for chiming in and for checking out my channel. Welcome to Acorn Hill 👍🏼🙋🏻‍♂️
