The first time I've tried an acorns and oak leaves themed pattern....it seems to work well on this style of holster. The holster is perfect for SASS events. It's extremely sturdy, made from 10-12 oz Hermann Oak tooling leather and lined with 3-4 oz. Oiled with pure Neatsfoot Oil and antiqued with Fiebings Sheridan Brown.. The belt is also Hermann Oak lined with 4-5 oz smooth veg tanned leather. I used a combination of hand (saddle stitching) and machine stitching.

Your work is truly amazing. You’re one of the main reasons I got into doing leather. I’m still in awe of your work

The attention to detail is just stunning. Half way through I wondered what he was going to do to fill the rest of the time. Now I know.

Wonderful work, as always. I really like your tooling style. I just wish you had shown more of the tooling of the holster.

Very nice work! Like your Oak leaves especially. I have made a number of oak tooled items and in the past used the craft patterns available through the leather craft suppliers. I never was really pleased with them though. Back in the early eighties I started making my own patterns for tack and saddlery while doing repair work for others. I'd take tracings of tack I had been given to repair and improve them to my liking. I got to where I was able to make my own patterns from scratch. It took me a lot longer to attempt drawing my own tooling patterns as well.

Hello I have a question, in one of your saddle videos you rub what looks like an oil into the leather before you painted on the dye. Is this 100% neatfoot oil or? And do you seal with saddle lace? Or wax ? I'm reworking a saddle for a friend and want to do it right. Ty

Hello sir. Can you explain why your antique paste does not leak when you get your holster moisted for forming? Thank you for your answer.

I usually use some tan-kite over it before I wet it but that also dissolves a bit, the antique also doesIt does, there’s not much that can be done about it so I have to be very careful. Sometimes touch up the antique later. Give it a final coat of tan-kite if necessary.

@@agarfrance9272 thanks for you answer. I actually kinda do the same but i always get some leaks.. So now when it's possible i do apply it when my molding is finished... Which is in some cases very annoying. But in you video it looks like it does not "disolve". Well done!!
