Buddy, you're just the best. The result is already striking. Not only is the body shape not the most common (it seems to me that asymmetric bodies, especially at the stage of bending sides, are much more difficult to build), but there is also a completely wooden binding (it's very sad that you had to reinstall it, but the efforts were clearly not in vain). I am silent about the fact that the guitar is acoustic. Making such instruments without power tools at all is the height of skill. I love your videos for the scrupulous selection of work footages and their masterful presentation through editing. Not even talking about the lutherie skills - they are always above any praise. I'm really looking forward to new episodes. And, if it doesn't tire you too much - the director's cut with subtitles will be very welcome. Thank you for your great work!

Astonished by your precision and by the dedication you have put into it, congratulations and keep up! "After many hours of effort, I just wasn't happy with the result" when I understood that would mean to do the edging all from the start I felt a deep pain, perfectionism it's a burden you don't deserve to experience.

Thank you. Removing the binding was painful, but I knew that if I left it, I would see it every day. In the end it simply had to be done.

I have just bent some sides for a uke. Perfect time to see how you repaired cracked areas. I was thinking I would have to start again! Thanks.

It's a terrible feeling! I was lucky that the biggest crack could be cut out completely. Good luck with your repair.

Ich ziehe alle Hüte (Kopfbedeckungen), die ich besitze (und das sind nicht wenige ;-)) vor Deiner Handwerkskunst. Habe vor Kurzem mein erstes Instrument (E-Bass) selber gebaut und weiß von was ich spreche. Super scharfes Handwerkszeug geführt von meisterlicher Hand bringt ein meisterliches Ergebnis. Ich schaue dir sehr gerne über die Schulter und habe schon sehr viel alleine durch Beobachtung gelernt. Vielen Dank für Deine Videos! Viele Grüße aus dem Südwesten.

Acoustics bring a lot more complexity than electrics, but it's manageable. I made a few design decisions that cost me a lot of time and frustration. My advice is to keep it simple, maybe even buy a standard mold and templates.

Where could I find the binding channel cutter you use? I love that. I prefer using hand tools rather than routers, etc. but I've never seen one of those. The ones I'm seeing on amazon for violins look different.

Mine if from Cremona Tools in Italy. In the US you may be able to get one from Stewmac, just search for a purfling cutter.

Where or how did you get thin wood? I have 7 or 6mm wood and I need it to be 3mm for the guitar top. Any ideas?

You'll need to thin it down with a planer or sander of some sort. I used a handplane, but there are machines that do it quickly as well. I don't think I've ever found 3mm top/back woods for sale.
