Acoustic Guitar Sessions Presents the Wood Brothers

We're very happy to have the Wood Brothers join us in the studio.
For almost 20 years, Oliver and Chris Wood nurtured separate musical careers: Oliver with his band King Johnson and as a Tinsley Ellis sideman, Chris with experimental jazz group Medeski Martin and Wood. However, after taking the stage together at a MMW show in North Carolina, the siblings immediately knew they needed to start their own project. Mixing elements of blues, soul, folk, and rock, the Wood Brothers have now earned their own legion of fans. Listen here as the brothers, along with percussionist Jano Rix, perform three tunes and discuss a range of topics, including their earliest musical memories and the momentous N.C. show that ignited their collaboration.

I watch/listen to these guys all the time...this interview & session is great...thanks AGM. First I've seen Oliver with the SWEEEET National tricone... absolutely beautiful piece!

Big Fan of the Wood Brothers and their artistic work over the years, and lately a huge fan of their producing talent with such artists like Seth Walker (check him out). Chris and Oliver are great! Thankful that Sean Costello (R.I.P) introduced me to their music.

Pretty sure that's a cardioid microphone pointed at the bass. You can really tell when Chris sings. Next time try an omni or a stereo?

A great performance and interesting interview let down by poor production values; mic position (or selection), focus, depth of field, lighting etc. Auto focus is fine for home videos, but if you're gonna credit yourselves then maybe you wanna put a bit more effort in!
