Love Becky, but gotta disagree. She still needs more experience. As she admits, as she constantly asks for advice. But she's getting there. She is very skilled in her niche. I have learned things from her. And it's "generation's." And again, I support her, but she is no Julia Child. That is a HIGH bar.

Let me tell you a true story about crockpot when I was younger I’ve always bought that brand crockpot 20 years later I called the company to ask if they had a replacement knob. The man said what is the problem I said there is no problem. My crockpot works well. I love it but the knob has weathered over the years and it fell off and I needed a replacement. I said I love my crockpot so the customer representative from crockpot told me, that is the stories we love to hear so he directed me to buy the knob, but in the end crockpot send me a small crockpot for free. I think it was a 5 quart maybe and they sent it to me for free for my story, which was really the truth so I’ve never bought another brand batch crockpot, and I’ve never had any issues with them, except maybe the handle or off and that took 20 years 🥘🥘

Hello! In your last video you talked about a french pumpkin from Provence. I am from that region and I would advise you to look into an other variety : the Courge/Courgette de Nice. It s a variety that produices both pumpkin (courge) and zucchini (courgette), if you pick the fruit when it s young it is green and is a zucchini, but if you let it ripe long enough it becomes orange/brownish and it s a pumpkin! Usually you would leg the first few fruits near the base of the plant to ripe for a long time and pick the new fresh one as zucchini to eat during the summer! It s not very watery and is very fun to grow Keep up the good contents, la bise from France 😊

Today bought 2 onions(and a small eggplant), from my neighbor up the road who has a roadside stand! Admire your efforts & my neighbor(who grows alot, even asparagus)! I fully believe if my life hadn't emploded when my husband died from cancer at 43 yrs young when our son was 4 yrs old, we would have had more sustainable trees, produce, chickens would have been nice but not necessary. Enjoy your channel and am happy for your joy and happiness, but tears do come for what could have been. It will be 25 years this December since our loss, he would have been 68 yrs old yesterday. Decorated the cemetery for his birthday/Halloween today (he loved Halloween), (car trouble prevented us going sooner). Thank you for the joy you bring in inviting us along your journey as your friend. 😊❤

I just wanted to reach out to you and tell you how sorry I am for your deep loss. I can tell you loved him a lot and miss him greatly. Perhaps, taking up a relaxing but satisfying hobby like gardening might be just what you need to focus on? You could even place something in your garden that reminds you of him? I hope my suggestion isn't too assuming and too forward. May God bless you, comfort you and strengthen you. 🙏

@@Faith-in-him Thank you for your caring and comforting message. Yes, my husband was and still is the love of my life, we are soulmates. We prayed and God brought us together, we felt as though we knew each other a lifetime. We lived and loved a lifetimes worth. I have and do garden at the cemetery. That has helped, because I grew up with parents who each had 2 green thumbs. At my childhood home we harvested and canned from jam to veggies. Our son(who was 4 yrs old when his Dad passed away) and I have done certain projects(planted sprouting potatoes one year), but it is hard when your collective dreams and goals as a couple are gone with your person. Each year I want to do lots of things but my health is precarious and do not always feel like it(going up the road to the veggie stand was a one time thing last year). I love all we did plant and do before the cancer, from 3 evergreen trees(for an anniversary and a bonus tree for our son). A French lilac tree from my parents, it blossomed the spring after he passed. Peonies we bought and planted the next spring after we got married. I love when cornflowers come in the fall in the driveway or the side of the road, he loved them. Phlox too, wild phlox has come into our yard. We planted our front and side perennial gardens our first year married. Thank you for your suggestions. He is really all around. Wrote this for him: Beds and beds of wildflowers Colors so brilliant my mind soars You there with me, your hand in mine A dream of forever long agos A place out of time, loving and divine

You should try savory pumpkin Orzo. 3 sausage links, cut out of the casing, of your choice fried in a little olive oil of your choice, removed from pan, and set aside. 7.5 Oz of regular plain pumpkin, not pie pumpkin, one clove of garlic diced very fine and one onion diced fine, in the oil left in the pan sweat the onion and garlic for one minute, add pumpkin stir for 2 or 3 minutes. Add 2 and a half cups chicken broth, and mix well for a few minutes. Then add one cup of Orzo and stir for a few minutes until Orzo is to desired tenderness. Then, add a fourth of a cup of heavy cream simmer until thickness you desire, take from the heat, and add and stir in the sausage you pre-cooked and sprinkle with a good Parmigiano, Usually ready in 20 minutes. Add a salad on the side if desired. You can use any sausage you like from spicy to sage or Italian.

I appreciate your crockpot ideas very much! I'm an early retiree. Due to my severe arthritis in my hips, I can only stand for very short periods & I'm not able to walk much.👩‍🦽 I now live with my daughter and her family of 5. Both my daughter and son-in-law work full time. My son-in-law does most of the cooking since he gets off earlier. My 16 yr old granddaughter who takes online high school classes, also does a lot of cooking. She is taking a cooking class & she enjoys cooking for us . I like giving everyone a break from the kitchen & crockpot meals are the easiest for me to do. I can gather the vegetable ingredients for chopping at the table & sit & chop there. I've learned to sit at the stove in a chair to cook for short periods like searing meat.. Then throw it all in the crockpot and just wait. LOL I've even learned to do dishes while sitting down... So thank you 🌷for these recipes. Crockpot cooking or simple dishes that I can cook for are family of 6 make me feel like I am contributing something. I hope to see more...❤

Thank you for the Salisbury steak demo. I was going to make it from a Campbell's soup recipe and my wife who is a regular viewer of yours asked me to follow your recipe instead. Suffice to say, cooking is not my forte and I lack some of the basic skills - watching you dice the onion was revelational, forming and frying up the patties - just watching your hand skills was a great help to me. And I didn't need to use a can opener! ;^) Jack in Sequim.

I enjoy watching you explore using different cooking methods for meals. They all have their place and value. They all allow options around varied schedules. Right now I have 2 crock pots with apples. One making into sauce and 1 with peels and cores making into juice for jelly. When I have smaller amounts of apples I make sauce in the microwave. One thing I don't usually do is brown my meat. I can see the value. I'm going to try it. I like how you've shifted to smaller canned amounts. It can be helpful when you can - have the jars, lids, space to store, etc. As your family grows you may switch again. I can't believe how the time has come and gone!!! I remember you working to get your beds built and ready to plant now the season is wrapping up! Thanks for all your sharing. I love it. 😎

I love this series! Something I think would be a really cool test is if you freeze dried some fruit and tried to make your own powdered smoothie mixes! I’ve seen the company Kencko at Walmart and they are just so expensive. It made me wonder if it could be mimicked by freeze drying fruit, blending different mixes of fruit and reconstituting it with juice or water!

Hi...it's in the spice section and it's a concentrate of mostly caramel and flavourings (I think). It makes sauces look browner. I prefer to use dark soy sauce to do the same thing without all the additives. Just cut back on the salt you add. It adds a nice umami favour and no one ever guesses its in there! 👍😊

You can easily make a browner by mixing a spoon of sugar and a spoon of oil on the stove on high until it's almost black. (At that point, it will no longer be sweet.) Let it cool slightly and add water (carefully! it will spatter if too hot)😃, or just dump it in with your other recipe ingredients. For lentil soup, gravies - anything that's looking a little beige!
