Here's a brand new painting tutorial for a piece I made a long time ago. I’ve had a lot of requests for more “how to paint water” videos, and there were a lot of folks asking if I would be able to do a tutorial for this painting specifically. So here it is!
In this tutorial we use acrylic paint to create a close up image of two waves. We are focusing a little more on detail in this painting video than we normally do. This painting leans more toward intermediate level than towards beginner level. But I still think this is a great painting for beginners to try out, particularly if they are looking to get out of their comfort zone and push their skill!

I don't exactly remember but I think she used yellow, blue and white for this. A light and dark blue and a bright yellow. To be specific, maybe cadmium yellow, ultramarine blue/ phtalo blue, light blue and titanium white. Hope that helps.

Emily, I just want to tell you thank you. I’m in my 50s now, but when I was younger I painted, drew and was very artistic. I even went to an art school. However, after years of raising my kids, work, and a busy (very happy life) I haven’t painted in YEARS! Thank you for how you teach, encourage and support. I’ve jumped back in. I am overjoyed that I found your channel. I love your personality and video style! You focus mainly on the tutorial but still let who you are show through.
