Today I am at Viva Training Academy and are explaining how to use a flue gas analyser.
We have a Testo 310 and also a Kane 458 Flue gas analyser.
how to use a flue gas analyser and where the probe should be located to test the flue gas.
You will now need to know this for your acs gas training.

4/90,000 is 0.0000444. Sorry to be a stickler. Great informative video. Will be great for the apprentice to understand things, it’s like having a one to one with an ACS instructor/assessor.

Just noticed this video as I’ve been working with the testo 310. Allen this analyser must be set for the correct area code before going any further, I noticed when the unit was switched on at the start it wasn’t set up for GB which is area code 2

Well explained video Allen & Russ! Just one thing, shouldn’t the ratio on the low rate have been 0:00004, surely it can’t be higher than the high rate ratio.? 👍

Hi. I’m currently doing my ACS , I just want ask you , what happened if you can’t put the boiler in service mode . For example because you don’t have the Manufacture instructions and can’t ceck how to do it . What you do in this situation ? Run hot water for 5 minutes ? Thanks

Thanks for this video Allen and Russ, really does help, I’m about to go back and do my Gas part soon. Question : Do these analysers pick up weather the flue has been correctly fitted or not? If the flue wasn’t correctly fitted, how does it show you? Thanks.

They can sometimes tell you if the flue is mixing. That's the reason we check for the flue integrity. Thanks for watching.

Can any of these gas analysers measure fuel pressure. He was talking about placing the Analyser probe in the centre but when he did it he pushed it to the end No sound at 31:13 -31:41

Please correct me if wrong. in your calculation 9% x 10,000 should be 900 instead of 90,000 @26:50 in the video?

In fact you multiply by the 9.7% (i.e. 0.097) by 1,000,000, because the CO on top is in units of ppm (i.e. 1/1,000,000), but this video is simplifying things by suggesting that you multiply the number 9.7 by 10,000 rather than dividing 9.7 by 100, and then multiplying by 1,000,000. Cheers.
