Here's my review of the Machine Robo DX Bike Robo from Action Toys! This figure is also known as Cy-Kill, from GoBots. The GoBots was Tonka's answer to Hasbro's Transformers. Needless to say, no one cares about the GoBots...except Action Toys!

True story, I was at my local ToysRus (rest in peace) looking for transformers, and this little 5 year girl comes hobbling into the isle, looks back at her father, and completely seriously and the happiest tone I've ever heard in my life says "Look daddy! GoBots!" That would have been enough but the father comes in saying "No sweetie, these are something called Transformers?" And then they walk off. Meanwhile I'm left alone in the isle staring into the void from space odyssey because they were completely serious!!! Neither had ever heard of transformers before....in 2010!!!!! And yet the 5 year old knows what the hell a GoBot was!! O.O

Reminder, Machine Robo revenge of cronos is actually a good show, it’s literally fist of the north star meets transformers. Oh yeah, not only did the gobots originate from machine robo, but so did the rocklords.

Bike Robo was the commander of a team of machine Robo who piloted these powered suits that combine with a tank to form Land Commander 5. He only appeared from the middle of the show onwards but was a fair significant character.

Hey I grew up with the GoBots and Transformers! CyKill was definately my favorite among them! Its a shame Hasbro didn't do much with him after acquiring him from Tonka

Sadly, they only acquired the rights to the names and stories. The character and toy designs are still owned by Bandai of Japan.

Cy-Kill had the colors first, long before Optimus Prime. Although he was probably inspired by Takara Robotman figure from the 1970s.

Recently, Hasbro handled Bandai and Takara's brand. They got rights for Power Rangers, and they're gonna have rights to sell Bandai's Sentai toys (mainly Go-Buster stuffs), while making their own take for the Power Ranger toys. I wonder if Bandai and Takara were merged into one company at some point. It obviously wouldn't happened that easily, but it would be interesting to see.

The Go Bots were great and they were all in scale (with a couple of exceptions) and they were a lot more affordable than TF's. As a kid I had Leader 1, Scooter, and Turbo. I still have Baron Von Joy (a silver Porsche 930 turbo) a figure I collected a decade or so ago and Psycho (a futuristic car). Go Bots still has a special place in my memories. P.S. Go Bots were released here in the US before Transformers.

All of the Go-Bots looked weird. What makes the figure so good is the quality, articulation and accuracy to Cy-Kill from the cartoon. If you check on KZfaq you’ll see it’s spot on.

I had them ALL! If it transformed, no matter the company, I had several, as a kid. Cy-Kill, I had 2 different scale versions, that both transformed.

After watching this video again I had a thought about the vehicle form. It looks like theirs a cockpit on the back of the head so maybe any humans can ride in the cockpit in vehicle mode and that any of the other robots could ride him in vehicle mode just like the Junkeons from the first Transformers movie

Note: I’m almost positive the little plastic thing is not from the gobots.Its main purpose is to hold an extra faceplate,and extra hands.So when you display Cy-kill,you can leave boxy boy in the back holding the vehicle parts
