Acton Bridge Station Overnighter 27/07/15 - 28/07/15

9 жыл бұрынMonday 27 July 2015 & Tuesday 28 July 2015. An overnight session at Acton Bridge Station, and a decent mix of traction and workings passing through. A good showing from the electrics, and some fantastic sounding Class 70's. Other highlights for me include the early running Colas Tug 60087 which blasted through on 6C37 empty log carriers, and a nice looking engineers train with 66957 and 66595 working 6X04 Crewe PAD - Atherstone. Many thanks to my pal Ken Browne for taking the trip down from Scotland to join me.

Splendid video thanks. 24 minutes of action with only 1 Pendo, 1 Voyager and 1 Desiro. I've spent a number of afternoons at Acton Bridge, but after watching that I really ought to do a night shift there.

+Alan Molyneux I respectfully ignore all the passenger workings and hope they don't get in the way of the good stuff!! It is worth a visit here in the evening or early morning as there is a good volume of workings passing through. Thanks for watching, cheers Steve.

We are so lucky on wcml the freight traffic that comes past at night is amazing. I'm abit further down at Winsford myself but get the same passing. Great video and thanks for putting the work in and sharing Bud. Rob

Nice video. If you know whats coming its best to be at the end of the platform so the light of the station lights up the whole train. If your at the start of the platform you get a lot of darkness in the shot. Enjoyed it none the less.

+atomiswave1971 Yes I get that, unfortunately circumstances dictated my less than favourable position for the southbound shots after dark... I wasn't happy with these, but thought I'd keep them in rather than show an incomplete record of the night's movements. Thanks for watching and your comments mate, cheers Steve.

cmeonthemove Thanks Chris, we were quite lucky with the weather as the forecast was terrible. We grabbed 40 winks in my car for the 3 hours of darkness :)

Do you have access to Realtime trains so you know what's coming when, or do you have to more or less wait and see what turns up? Is there anywhere you can retire to between trains?

AndreiTupolev Yes, I have access to plenty of live gen but the biggest problem at this location is the poor mobile signal. This can be very frustrating constantly trying to reload/refresh. There are spacious brick shelters on both platforms.

great video steve as allways, can i ask in the first few minutes off this video there is a double yellow signal flashing signal wat does this mean ?

+stewart hopkinson Thanks, the flashing double yellow means the train will divert towards Liverpool at Weaver Junction which is a couple of minutes north of the station.
