Actor Colman Domingo talks new films "Rustin," “The Color Purple”

The new film "Rustin" puts the spotlight on Bayard Rustin, an unsung hero of the civil rights movement. Emmy Award-winning actor Colman Domingo ("Euphoria") joins "CBS Mornings" to discuss starring as Rustin, who organized the landmark 1963 March on Washington, as well as his performance in the upcoming film, "The Color Purple."

Coleman is a hidden treasure, and I am proud that he is no longer hidden. I saw Rustin and Coleman did a phenomenal job of doing something that very few did in the Civil rights movement did. Coleman honored Rustin, and it is on Rustin shoulders that Coleman soars.

Didn’t know a thing about Rustin until Coleman Domingo brought him to the screen & I grew up in chocolate city aka the Nations Capital where all civil rights leaders where taught to us except him. Wow. Amazing story. Hope Coleman indeed gets the best actor awards he deserves across all the awards shows.

He deserves an Oscar....but of course no such luck...sodding shot like Barbie and Oppenheimer... So phenomenally boring takes the gong. So unfair. Colman was sensational and so was the film.
