So Rob Reiner says that Nicholson did not shot his coverage first, so that he could warm up during his co-stars reaction shots... Now Kevin Bacon said that JN shots were done first... Interessting how people recall the same event diferently. I am not sugesting that either Bacon or Reiner are lying... is just that from a scientifique perspective, we can see how memory plays tricks on us. Well either way, Jack Nicholson’s performance is brilliant.
@felipearce38555 жыл бұрын
But both guys agree on one thing...Jack Nicholson gave the same amazing performance for like 12 to 14 takes, each time, even when he knew that he was off camera just getting his co stars get the reaction to his speech.....thats respect for his peers, for his craft and for the director.

Jack was given a choice but it did not matter to him how Rob wanted to do it. Jack did a lot of off cam acting to get cutaway shots and even worked extra. Jack's scenes were mostly done first because he needed to be out by noon. When Jack left, Kevin Pollack was Col. Jessup off-cam. So, it was a combination of both.
