Even though many of us have never met some of our favorite actors in real life it’s hard not to feel an affinity to them. Whether it’s a memorable scene or a great movie an actor can leave a huge impression and create fond memories for viewers. They may be strangers we have never meet but a great performance can communicate a lot to movie fans.
It’s why, when our favorite actors die, it can feel like we have lost someone as well. Here are the actors we lost so far in 2018.

I was friends with British actress from Notting Hill Emma Chambers. I met her about 6 years ago while out with my friend In Soho London. She was sitting outside of a bar on her own at a table, looking very tearful. My friend and I stopped to see if she was ok, it turned out it was her birthday and she had also received her final Decree Nisi in her divorce on that day too. So we took her with us and we all had a brilliant day and night and we all got smashed. We remained friends until the day she died, her friend called me to tell her what had happened. It really upset my friend and I. We lost a lovely beautiful friend that day and the world lost a very talented actress. RIP Emma darling we will always have a glass of red wine for you every year. ❤️❌❤️❌❤️❌

nellie cat Hi ! Emma died of natural causes bless her, they said and have now confirmed to her family it was a heart attack. I never knew she had really real bad asthma and her family were told it was something to do with a massive asthma attack that brought it on. She died not long after my birthday, last February. We didn’t get to go to her funeral as it was strictly private and only family a few guests in the profession were allowed. But we went to her goodbye memorial service. She’s at peace now, only 53 years old though. Bloody dreadful and frightening too. I hope this answers your question. Xxx

Why didn't they mention the fact that David Ogden Steirs voiced Cogsworth from Beauty and the Beast, Jumbaa from Lilo and Stitch and the series, and played Governor Ratcliffe and his sidekick in Pocahontas? Last October I was visiting a family member at an assisted living centre in McCleary WA, and R Lee Ermey visiting his mother for her 100 birthday. When we found out he had passed we expressed our sadness to her and she told us of his illness and how he felt his time was coming. She's a lovely woman that has outlived her husband and, now, many of her children, and has handled it with grace, dignity and incredible strength. ❤

David Ogden Stiers is also the narrator at the beginning of the Disney film "Beauty and the Beast" (the original animated one with Paige O'Hara as Belle, not the live action one with Emma Watson). His reading of that prologue still gives me chills after all these years. And yes, he also lent his voice to the character of Cogsworth in the animated version, as well. :)

When Better Off Dead came out, I only knew Stiers from M.A.S.H. I was so used to him having the transatlantic accent that I almost fell over when he spoke like a regular dude. And he was hilarious as the nutty straight guy dad. Great actor!

Dorothy Malone was a really nice person. She moved to Dallas, TX sometime during the 1980's. My assistant at Scarborough Faire knew her and managed to talk Dorothy into coming to our show. She was very gracious, posed for a photo with me and gave me an autograph. I'm sorry she's gone.

"Can you read my mind? Do you know what it is that you do to me?.." The song that still gives me goosebumps & never fails to 'transport' me back to the good ol' days, where Superman & Lois Lane created cinematic magic..Loved Margot Kidder..she was born to play Lois Lane.. just like how I could NEVER dreamed or imagined anyone other than Christopher Reeve to be Superman..EVER..and dat line when they first met, as she was falling from the crashed helicopter on top of skyscraper was both hilarious & so darned romantic.. Superman: It's OK Miss, I got ya.. Lois: You've got me, but who's got YOU?.. Simply unforgettable & breath-taking..Sigh..They just don't make movies like dat anymore..R.I.P to both wonderful actors of my past childhood & EVEN till now.. Margot & Christopher..😊..!

Had the pleasure of working with David Ogden Stiers as his stand in, as I was a tall 6ft 6 PA on the film crew ;) ... I layed on the floor and had fake blood put around my head while the director set up the shot with the cinematographer... I must have laid on the uncomfortable floor for 30 mins, until the shot was framed and ready. Then David tapped me on the shoulder and joked, "its one of those times where I bet you wished you were born a midget" ;) Charming man, great character actor and very sad to hear of his passing.
