That man with the yellow ball in his shirt was an angel. After he stayed with the young boy (who I initially thought might be his son until I rewatched the video*) and made sure he made it out of the pool safely, he immediately turns back to face the pool and begins scanning to make sure no one else was still caught in the turbulent waters and unable to get out. We see him again at the very end of the video with the yellow ball in his hand as he walks thru the covered seating area. He is alone. *This young man was not with the young woman and her son. However, instead of getting out of the pool and fleeing to safety, this young man stayed in to help the boy get out. This is the selfless act that is the essence of goodness.

If anyone ever does happen to find themselves in the incredibly slim chance that they are in an earthquake and also in a pool at the same time, get out immediately! All pools have various networks of underground piping that in the event of an earthquake could rupture and create a Delta P scenario where the water is sucked out into the lower pressure area of empty space opened up by the earthquake, it could be a crack the width of a quarter and it would suck you into it so hard they wouldn’t be able to pull you off of it without ripping you in half. And if there is enough water in the pool it could have enough suction to break all your bones and suck you through the crack like you were made of jello. I’d much rather die being hit in the head with ruble.

@@NickyD Dawg, this is just standard physics. You have a low pressure zone and a high pressure zone, the HIGHER PRESSURE ZONE is going to want to vent into the LOWER pressure zone. I.E a huge area of space opening up from an earthquake and a several tens of thousands of gallons of water next to it in a pool, YES it will ABSOLUTELY suck you to the bottom and kill you, go look up "Delta P Scenario" Literally every commercial diver has to take a course on it where I live, you doughnut. Plenty of people die in pools from exactly this even without an earthquake happening, simply opening the drain at the bottom while someone is inside can and has killed plenty of people in the past. Before you make an idiot of yourself calling me a wannabe expert when I'm trying to give people safety tips, maybe you should do like 10 mins of research.

Something similiar happened to me on holiday in Palm Springs, California a long time ago. I was at the hotel pool. It was about half the size of the one in this video. I decided to enter the pool by diving head first into the deep end. As I surfaced to get a breath, I noticed the panicked look of people around the pool and them jumping to their feet. Just then, all the water in the pool, with me included, shifted 3 feet to the other length of the pool. This caused about 10% of the total water in the pool to overlap the pool onto the concrete deck. All of the people around the pool, about 20 in number, left the pool area and ran into various parts of the surrounding building. I quickly assessed an earthquake and decided my safest spot was to stay in the pool. The water sloshed back and forth for several minutes and returned to normal. It was a 4.0 earthquake. No damage except to several businesses who lost products broken when falling from shelving. I was please that I had kept my wits about me when others went into panic. However, I must admit, I never felt the shaking because I was weightless in water when it first struck.

@@Agraulos When I first dove into the pool, the earthquake started. I didn't feel it being weightless. When I surfaced to breathe, I noticed all the people acting strange. When the water started to slosh around, I was still able to tread water and keep my head above the waves created. It was like swimming in a moving ocean. So my head was only under water during my first dive into the pool. It was a scary situation at the time.

Imagine if it was worse, and the water was too powerful, if someone was drug under and tossed around and the video ended with scurrying and people attempting to retrieve the body of an innocent life.. And also - you don't need to hear it to see what's going on. :-/ Y'all are crazy..

Some of us have anxiety and have coping mechanisms that you might not agree with. When something scary happens to me and I get anxious, I always try to joke about the situation unless it's a medical emergency. I joke about because it makes me feel comfortable. I rather be mildly anxious and offend someone with my humor than be having an absolutely horrible anxiety attack.

It's like the earthquake was Gods version of those people who play Sims that take the ladder out the water to see if they drown.

Wow that's strong, and now 5 nights ago, a 5.7 magnitude earthquake hit the Philippines like on where I live usually, at night at 12:00 am, it was strong too, let's pray to god these won't happen again!
