Honestly, I think Disney is afraid of bankruptcy or competition and is trying to make as much money as possible by creating controversy. Of course this is just my opinion. I don't understand this war between "races", after all, there are bad and good people in every group and we shouldn't "throw people into one bag".

I'm not an expert or anything and I can't speak for anyone else but maybe it's because it's implying they're 'better' characters if their race is different. It can give the impression that the person who created the designs believes they're better like that which would be (no hate of course, I don't believe the creater of the designs meant it like this) racist it could be interpreted as them believing one race to be 'superior' or preferable to another (which im sure the og creater/designer didnt mean ofc). I know sometimes people change the race of characters so it can be more relatable to themselves especially if there isn't a lot of representation of the race they change it to

I think it's because if someone took a black character and in their design made the character lighter (like not a little) people would have gone mad over it but when someone else does the exact same thing but instead takes a white character and makes it black nobody says anything
