The Myo armband is a gesture controller that triggers a variety of actions on the computer based on the contractions of your muscles and the movements of your arm. It is intended for a variety of applications like controlling a slideshow presentation, controlling video playback while you're AFK, gaming, and more. We couldn't help but peek inside to take a closer look at how this interesting design was put together.

thanks guys, that was interesting. i just got my BRAGI DASH! it would be a tragic shame to tear one down, but also incredibly fascinating if you are prepared to. coolest wearable tech achievement i can think of. alternatively, maybe compare a $15 fitness tracker with a fitbit or sony offering to see if they are using more accurate or higher quality components.

Hi, I'm searching for something that can sense the impulse signals coming from the forearm. I just find out about Myo, but it seems discontinued. There is another device with similar characteristics on the market?

the motor has an off center weight on top to create vibrations when powered

@@mechcem i have one. It's used to feed back eg when you make a gesture. but kan also be used from the software that is connected to feed back info. Handy when giving presentations where you get a buzz when the next slide command has been received :)

Hi, you can create an Android/iOS app that will connect via BLE with the band. You can create your own solution or try existing tools from here: github.com/balandinodidonato/MyoToolkit/blob/master/Software%20for%20Thalmic's%20Myo%20armband.md
