I had them when they first dropped. The Adams sounded great. However, I kept having an issue where the A8H's would randomly shutoff & then power back on. So I sent them back and got the Genelec 8361a monitors. The Genelec's are completely on a different level and the A8H's don't come close. But the ADAM A8H's are phenomenal at the price point.

@@guitarz99 Look at the Antelope Audio Atlas i8. I’ve heard nothing but great things about those. They’re a little over your budget but not by much. . Also the Barefoot sound footprint 02 ($2995) a pair. The Barefoots are little smaller. But they destroy the Yamaha’s.

Great review! Please test EVE Audio SC3070 if you can. They are also 3-way with DSP. But I heard they are better than Adam. I'm considering replacing my Yamaha HS8 with those.

Hey man, thanks for a detailed review. I am at the edge of buying and thinking between Adam A8H vs Neumann KH310. I don't have an option to test neither. If it was your choice, which one would you pick?

In the 3k price range that they are for the pair would you recommend it as the best in that range? Or what is the best for that price in your opinion strictly for mixing and production in a professional environment
@ju1ceaudio
@ju1ceaudio 3 ай бұрын
For 3k they are great. Build in dsp control, sound amazing, solid build. That is for mixing and production. For casual listening they can be tuned to fit your preference as well and still sound great tuned with more bass and treble.

Hey man, just stumbled across your channel. Really love your advice on price to performance benefits! Now that the Adam A77H are a true three-way design (compared to the old A77x), would you see any reason not to go with the A77H and save the extra couple hundred dollars? Thanks!
@ju1ceaudio
@ju1ceaudio 6 күн бұрын
Thank you! It means a lot to me seriously. Great question, it all depends on preference past a certain price point and these are definitely more unique sounding then most monitors. So i would say try them out in your room first if possible because cheap monitor could beat these if they fit better in your room.

I have the A8h and they go a little deeper than the A77h. For listening ti HD music, I ended up adding a sub anyway and I'm thrilled with the sound in my 22'x18' living room. Had I known I was gonna add a sub, I probably probably would have gone with the A77H!

What do you mean by translation for those who are not familiar with studio recording?
@ju1ceaudio
@ju1ceaudio 4 ай бұрын
It means basically that the song will sound similar on all different types of speakers and listening devices. Instead of sounding good only in the studio, it will sound good everywhere.

I know that these speakers should have their tweeters facing the inside vs the outside position. Did you notice any major difference while using them with their tweeters facing the outside?
@ju1ceaudio
@ju1ceaudio 4 ай бұрын
I tried both ways but it seems the tweeter facing inside was the way to go everytime.

I forgot which video, but a Adam rep said for this particular model it doesn't matter. Kind of makes sense though for a 3 way. You have mids and highs close enough to your ears. It's seems like the room is more of a factor on positioning them further back, closer forward , more spread out or closer and more turned in or not to make that equilateral triangle.

@@Fighter4Streetthese seem ridiculously overkill for gaming, especially if you only 3-4 feet from them. You're better off with the less expensive Adam or maybe the Kali monitors. Another option is to go with 5" monitors and a sub (these are huge!)

@@mitzthegamerI bought the HS8 about 10 years ago but got rid of them within a couple months because they didn't sound good to me at all. The rear port also meant that they had to be placed 3' from the wall. I've tried quite a few monitors since, ended up with the A8h and couldn't be happier. My room is 22'x18' and I'm also using a sub. These are midfield monitors and aren't designed for small spaces.
