This guy was fucking brilliant and I don't care what anyone says. First of all, no human being should be that good looking. Second, rhythmically his stuff was amazing. Stage presence, charisma, songwriting, hooks. Adam has it all. Yep, I've had a mancrush on this guy for a LOOONG time... It's all rather silly but DAMN does it kick ass.

Being a recent convert to Adam and the Ants, I regret never seeing any KOTWF concerts in the USA. I was in college and baby sis liked him (via Mtv) so naturally I couldn't. No-one told me how nail-biting killer gorgeous he was or about his B-sides! Definitely not for kids! He knew how to seduce his audience! A music history tragedy that only 2 full length concerts captured his beyond exciting performance! And why does the war paint make him so sexy? His face was so expressive! I'm an addict now!

I saw them on the tour previous to this. They were a fine live band who put on a great show. At the time I was dismayed by the pop direction that they headed off in. I drew the line at Stand And Deliver. I've mellowed over the decades and I can appreciate the later stuff. Young fans sometmes make the mistake of thinking that the groups they admire are somehow theirs and that they should produce material to satisfy their wants. Obviously that's not the case. People mature and artistes develop and that's just the way it is. Gary Tibbs is a great bassist who enhanced the band.

@@ajo3085 rubbish - there are indeed plenty of bootlegs of the 1981 Ants out there but this is exactly the same as they sound. Both versions of the Ants were ferociously powerful live bands (Dirk album was hideously UNDERproduced, you have to hear good copies of the Decca stuff to get a good studio capture of the Matthew Ashman Ants vibe.)

@@kurtvanderbogarde8402 Lewisham Odeon 80, LA & Koln 81 are 3 of the bootlegs on youtube. If you can't hear the difference in Adam's vocals, the drop outs due to his dancing/movement away from the mic, missed cues, bum notes and flat vocals (all totally reasonable in a high energy performance btw) compared to the overdubbed Tokyo and Dominion Theatre gigs, you shouldn't be commenting.

@@ajo3085 Lewisham 80 The Idea's audio was replaced with the Lyceum version of the song from the same tour, the original audio which you can hear on Slapdash Eden's channel has a buzzing noise all over it. I'm not on about the PC Revue which had backing vocalists Russell Stone and Simon Bell on it (compare that one to Brighton 28th Dec) I'm on about the March 27th '81 gig on the Stand And Deliver tour, Gary Tibbs' London debut.

Me too, I was born in the 80s , wish I was born a decade earlier, so I could of enjoyed the 80s and still got to live the 90s music, originally went out the window by 2000s, now I don't know who sings what, all sounds the same

this may not be a fashionable opinion....but they WERE a great live band (unlike, say, the pistols). those drums used to hit you in the chest. and they could all really play.

Agreed 100%..growing up as a musician (bassist) I cited Adam/Ants as a huge influence sonically..Adan's a beast & his bandmates were no slouches..a lot of talent there

My first musical heroes. Kings of the Wild Frontier was the first album I ever owned (I got it for my birthday in 1981), and I even went to a school fancy dress party as Adam Ant, complete with the white stripe on my face.

Adam is unfeasibly handsome and attractive. His music and performances are very under rated. I hope he can have a good old age and that he finds peace. He works incredibly hard right now and deserves more credit, money, several awards and a long rest with his loved ones. Xxx

Very clever chap indeed, there's lyrics on his Friend or Foe album that point to his musical downfall - he knew he had a limited shelf life but this period was something special. Caught him on tour a few years back at a local venue and it rocked....

Damn, this guy was awesome... I saw them back in 1980 in Long Beach, California. Some group from Australia opened for them, I believe they were called "INXS," or something like that... Adam and the Ants virtually exploded on stage, everything was perfect, nine or ten, maybe 12 songs, went by in what seemed like minutes. I bought a t-shirt for 10 bucks, printed on both sides; front was Adam (posing) and the Ant Headdress logo on the back. I wear an Extra-large, but all that was left in stock was Small, so I never wore it.

You have to be mad to thumb down this. Simply, one of the best entertainers of that generation and beyond. Basically because of being so influential, I always see bits of Michael Jackson and a lot of big time Pop Music Acts who totally jumped Adam's Train.
