I just finished HyperNormalisation and Can't Get You Out of My Head, and I am now obsessed with Adam Curtis's films. I'm happy that he exists. I never realized that Adam Curtis was English until they showed his photo when he was on the phone. Makes sense! Wild stuff.

totally agree with you Carl. btw its so effing funny that "City of the day" is actually a totally ironic goofy we-need-to-fill-time-segment from the crew , and in hundreds of shows , after the City-song was played, Tim forgot/didnt care to mention WHAT CITY it actually is this time, and just kept on switching to 50 other topics, and Doug or Vic had to remind him that the COTD - segment was actually STILL going on 😂😂😂 , so the Creators dont take that segment serious for one milliSecond, BUT we the viewers actually came to like it, I love the City-song, and we wanna know WHAT the respective COTD is 😂 I love the Show, The Howard Stern Show is dead since 2020 , OHL is alive and kicking Cheers from a German from Berlin @Tim Heidecker

I think what Adam Curtis was saying towards the end was that the left isnt using discourse well enough to pull centrists to their cause. That’s been my biggest gripe of the left since Trump. Talking points became memefied. On social media, leftist talking points where always like “ugh, I mean like, it’s 2016! Take accountability”. Meanwhile the right was just like “Pepe + wojak”. Hyper Normalisation touches on that and “political cosplay” is a very spot on description

You’re usually rude to the call in guests, which I know is kind of a bit and it’s funny sometimes. But today you just seemed outright mean and dismissive. You’re not better than anyone else, especially someone working at a pretzel factory. I’m glad Adam stepped in to kindly suggest unionizing. Not everyone gets to follow their dreams, Tim.

I never ended up getting the job at he pretzel factory, just applied there and had an interview. Obviously you didn't absorb that bit when I was fortunate enough to be on the air on the best podcast on the world. And I wasn't insulted or hurt by Tim in any way, I was chuckling during most of the call. You can't criticize Tim like that, especially when it's part of his act and humor and people that are longtime fans know that. I only ever get good vibes from the crew on this show.
