He's really good! :D I wish he had more lines to pronounce in foreign languages. I'm italian and when he sang in a practically perfect Neapolitan dialect in "Hungry Hearts" I was pleasantly surprised.

I am probably biased, but I think he actually speaks Spanish really well. I have heard people butcher the r, rr, and ñ sound but I feel like he controls the sounds really well.

when i first saw him in star wars the force awakens, i thought he was mestizo (meaning mixed race white and indigenous american) latino so hearing his bad spanish is like whiplash to me because he looks like he should be able to speak it fine!! lmao it's cute

Me and my friend thought he was either Hispanic or Jewish. Since we’ve found out he wasn’t, we started calling him a “Spicy White”. He most certainly is 🥵.

@@billiey36 you're right but I think Adam just claims to be full white because it's easier to fly by in Hollywood as such. He honestly doesn't look full white and if you search up pictures of his biological father on google, his dad looks pretty latino/native American. But who's knows, doesn't matter much at the end of day :)

I'm Italian :) he's speaking spanish but some words are very similar or the same, for example when he says "un momento", "supongo", "comprende", "musica"

Cool! Could you please tell me what makes it recognizable as indiana accent? I come from Italy and it's not easy for me to detect the differences in the accents from the US States. Maybe the southern drawl a little bit, but I mainly recognize the differences in pronounciation from British English. 😁 I am very curious about it (I have a degree in languages also)

castizo and mestizo are both admixed spanish descent. If you're castizo you will be lighter colored and if you are mestizo you will be moreno colored. Adam looks castizo or could even pass as European. Mestizo and Castizo are both mixed one has a european phenotype while the other has Indigenous phenotype.

I didn't knew Adam Driver even existed before Star Wars... and now that i have seen other works from him... he was just a victim of maybe miss cast, or bad writing, for the Star Wars Saga because HE IS JUST SO SO GOOD! I love him in Marriage History. He and Scarlett are just two damn stars on it!! That kind of film, brings to the table what they have to offer as actors, they were both amazing. Now seeing other works from him, for now... i just can say that Star Wars is his worst work... but i think is the writing. The Darth Vader look alike helmet was just ridiculous and killer the character from the beginning.

I agree and I recommend you to watch also the other films with him, Hungry Hearts is one of his "niche" films that I prefer! And if you'll have the opportunity someday, watch the musical Annette by Leos Carax (it's new! It was released in the U.S. this month), it can be a little weird for some people but I absolutely adored it and Adam gives an Oscar-worthy performance!!

Of course, there are white people whose native language is Spanish, there are also white people whose first language is English and they have learned to speak Spanish like a native Spanish speaker. There is a stereotype that exists in America of the white English-speaking person, or gringo, whose attempts to speak Spanish or really any foreign language are nothing more than ridiculous. There is a saying amongst white people, at least in this country, that is used to point out other white persons' offensive statements or actions that are the result of insensitivity or a lack of knowledge about another race or culture, and that phrase is "How white of you". It refers not to the person's actual race but to their essence or character.
