KNOWLEDGE AT WHARTON ARCHIVES: A colleague asks you for feedback on a report. A LinkedIn connection requests an introduction to one of your key contacts. A recent graduate would like an informational interview. New research from Wharton management professor Adam Grant reveals that how you respond to these requests may be a decisive indicator of where you'll end up on the ladder of professional success. Grant recently spoke with Knowledge at Wharton for an interview about his findings, which are explored in his new book, Give and Take: A Revolutionary Approach to Success.

i think this just highlights the fact that the profit motive of capitalism doesn't necessarily preclude doing the right thing.

But wouldnt an "otherish giver"be a matcher?
@poulamie
@poulamie 4 жыл бұрын
My thought is: otherish givers are different from the matchers in terms of their motivation to give vs giving when/ if it is needed.

I bet there was someone better to interview Adam but this guy wanted the credit to him even if he is a terrible and boring interviewer. Next time put a more qualified interviwer.

Just sugarcoated words of an ancient idea. Wasted effect on a research that is pointless
