We need more Moog solos! it was so common in 70s prog and jazz-fusion bands, but now kind of forgotten art

@Randy A True, but Rick isn't exactly the most healthy person and he's getting older... Whose gonna pick up the torch?!?

There are some Neo-Fusion artists like me;) Check out "Stay For A While" from crima, where a Mini-Moog Model-D (the original one) is featured (and more old analog synth stuff as on the whole album...

I'd argue there's never been more solos like this played, just not on popular tunes.

My favorite key solo in the past 30 years. With the bands grinding crescendo underneath, what a freaking trip. Thank you.

If you haven’t seen this same solo from the Home invasion at Royal Albert hall DVD then you are in a for a real treat after watching this soundcheck version. As good as soundcheck sounds, Adam finds another level when played in concert. Absolutely brilliant stuff!!!

Adam you absolutely slay, you are awesome, regret number 9 solo is unreal, I must have played the solo About 10000000 times. Love it! Great sound for soloing.

This was the best display of musicianship I've ever seen. The sound was amazing as fuck. Thank you. Steven Wilson, Nick Beggs, Adam Holzman, Dave Kilminster and Craig Blundell For the Boulder Co. show

Holzman is a true musician, and we didn't need this masterfully written and played solo to aknowledge this. He is a master of his craft. I know that Steven Wilson is a genius in what he does, but I will never understand how he convinced all this giants to play for him in his albums. I mean...it would even be acceptable to have 1 monster in a band, but Holzman, Govan, Minneman in the same band?! It's crazy.
@aka.Mr.French4 жыл бұрын
one quick note about "written" solo - it isn't. Aside from the first and last couple of bars, this is all improvised, coming straight from Adam's head and heart. That said... "masterful," indeed!

Aw, maaaan, that's SO nice. Just became familiar with SW music during the lockdown and then discovered your name on the credits for Miles' TUTU album a couple weeks ago. You're a blessing and such an integral part of those SW albums. And LOVE the Leslie piano on Eminent Sleaze. Looking forward to checking out Truth Decay and your other work. A great discovery!

I come back to watch this, Adam's solo often.... Just hearing all of them jam is amazing. It must just be so amazing as artist's like Wilson, Blundell, Kilminster, Beggs and Holzman. As baddas as they are. Sounding and playing this Fuckin good.

Glad to see this man being highlighted. Seeing him being overlooked as a keyboard player in Porcupine Tree and not considered one of the top players of the era got me upset for a long time. This guy knows less can be more in terms of longer proggresive songs, even though mad skills are his property. Hahah cheers man, love the music

Great solo, Adam! Very clean playing. Wondering, does the voyager have a way of keeping it's tune across the keyboard? Because I own a model D reissue and am having trouble with it going out of tune. Do you have to tune before each few shows or something? Thanks

When I saw them do this in NYC, I thought Steven stepped too forcefully on Adam's solo with the rhythmic strumming that he was doing (not doing it here). I loved this solo from the album and really wanted to hear it loud, dominating the song and shaking the Beacon. Didn't really get that, but it was still great.
