About 350 AD , Monica married a pagan who was abusive and a difficult mother in law and Monica son Augustine was wayward. ( at 17 he had a child out of wedlock and had trouble with promiscuity) Monica prayed for years, and Augustine became a saint and her husband converted to Christianity.
