This is the first song I ever saw/heard Adam sing. I took about a 15 year hiatus from watching any kind of TV (including music videos) and missed his whole American Idol thing. He wrote this song during a sad time for him, and I just couldn't believe what I was hearing. And seeing. One thing that gets left out sometimes is that he conveys real emotion, every time he sings, and sucks the entire audience in like a magnet. And of course, live performance is his best jam. Growing up during the 50s, 60s and 70s, I was used to live performance (including on the recordings themselves), good or bad, and back in the day we were lucky to just hear musicians ripping it. Adam brought that back for me. Nobody better.

Roskoe, I love your reactions to Adam! He was coming out of a dark place, personally and professionally, when he wrote this. He wrote an open letter to his fans about it at the time. So happy to see you appreciate him.

This is from his album Velvet, which should have been a hit. It came out the same time the pandemic hit so he wasn't able to promote it. There are some really good songs on it. I like Stranger You Are and Superpower and really most every song on it. Adam has a foundation called Feel Something that supports the LGBTQ community. He does a lot of charity work. I stumbled onto Adam singing Believe to Cher during the pandemic, and was blown away. I started looking up his videos and old interviews to find out more about him. I have had favorite bands and performers over the years but there's something different about him. He really draws you in. I went to see him live at one of his 2022 Halloween concerts in Vegas to see if he was as good as he appeared. He's so much better live! I was sitting by other people who hadn't seen him sing live either. All through the show you could hear people, including myself, saying wow! His voice vibrates through you. I got to meet others who had come from around the world to see him. They were wonderful, and he has the most devoted and protective fan base. I consider myself a Glambert now, and this is something I never would have expected of myself. There's a vocal coach and opera singer who has been doing a series on Adam. She just did her sixth episode, but I believe it was on her fifth one she explained why there's such a strong connection with Adam. Her name is Angelina Kalahari. She explains why he's so good and talks about his training. It's been a fantastic series to watch.
