I'm 16. First time that I've heard this song was yesterday. My guitar teacher played this song for me, then I started to practise, bcz this song has easy chords, and I'm a beginner. Just wanted to say that playing guitar saved my life and I actually love music and every time that I listen this song I'm sure I'll get emotional bcz it helds beautiful memories. Playing guitar is one of the most comfy things that I do, I am a singer too and music just helps me having in inner peace

My son is 8 years old. He has never heard this song, by either artist. He has no biases about Adam or his lifestyle. He simply sat as still and quiet as I have ever seen him & completely listened to Gary and Adam all the way through both and when I asked him who sang it best, he said, "Adam." I know the biases, but I agree...beautifully done....regardless of anything else. Well done.

I think that: TFF wanted to set the mood so that people can understand how crazy, or mad this world is, and set the mood for the thoughts of a disturbed person, Jules wanted to show people how detached and cruel this world can be, it sets the mood for essentially a suicide letter, And Lambert wanted to show people how sad this world has become, with all the problems and cruelty and detachment, and set the mood for a prayer for help for the world. amazing really, being as it's all the same song.

Original is by Tears for Fears (1982) it was covered by Gary Jules in 2001 almost 2 decades later... Just random trivia for you :D Just my opinion but i think the original TFF one is the best since they created it. But the beat is also complementary to the content of the song i think. 2nd best is Gary's version, it's just a bit too depressing for me though. This version (adam's_ is too over the top... The song is meant to be simple i think.
