Adam was the BEST ever on Idol. I mean, my personal favorites were Elliot Yamin and Melinda Doolittle. I thought they were great, had beautiful vocals, and matched my musical style. However, Adam was a STAR the moment he walked onto the stage. He has 'it'. I love him. He should have won for his year. I think the person who comes a very distant second for me for best ever was probably Chris Daughtry. He wasn't my favorite personally, and I don't follow his genre of music much, but I think he had 'it' as well. None, though, better thatn Adam. I can't judge Kelly Clarkson (I LOVE her now, though), because I wasn't watching when she appeared on the show.

I think last seasons Caleb Johnson are up there with Adam though. They aren't comparable, but they are both great and awesome performers who really both knew how to give an entire show and not just perform a good song.

I totally agree he probably did better coming runner up. Not locked in to their contracts ect.

I heard it was actually on purpose so he'd be free to choose his own contract and not be tied down. Coming in 2nd was actually better for his career overall.

I agree! Nothing against Kris Allen but Adam is a true entertainer in every sense of the word and when he finished the show as the runner up I was completely shocked!

Ironically these talent-based shows rarely ever pick a winner strictly on talent, which is sad. I don't resent Adam not winning entirely because Kris is actually really good too. But I will never get over The Voice and Jeff Gutt losing to that stupid Florida couple just because they had a cute story even though he was miles ahead of them in talent.

Besides, a soft victory for Adam is that (so far) he's had better longevity than Kris.
