I remember bodegas in Queens (Elmhurst) in the 1980s. But I was living with a displaced South Boston Irish-American & Chinese & Taiwanese housemates--so ii never heard the word "bodega" 😬

What is deadass? I assume a like a deadbeat, like a couch surfer? Like someone that cant hold down a job or have a place to live?

No necessarily. Boroughs of NY have somewhat different slang and most sound like mixture of Italian and Spanish accents but more “mobster”.

A bodega in Spain usually refers to the place where you would put the wine so It stays well conserved. It is called a wine cellar . It can also be a place where they exclusively sell wine as well.

What's so nice about Adam Sandler is if he thinks somethings funny he'll say "that's good" or "that's funny". He's not competing with the other person for laughs
