They were the days, couldn't wait to get out on the BMX after school as a kid, building a jump with a bit of old wood and a few old house bricks. Standing on the stunt pegs bunny hopping on the spot having a competition with ur mates who could do the most 😆😂 fab times. Who remembers the film BMX bandits ????

Ahhhh BMX My first love, lost count how many I broke or parts I broke jumping off stairs or ramps over stolen beer barrels, my dream bike was a Haro but it's another dream that wasn't fulfilled, my first ever hero in life was Andy Ruffell then along came a certain Mr Eddie Filoa. Even now at 52 years old I still watch the young riders of today on You Tube and it totally amazes me how things have evolved and the tricks they do, some of today's riders are just insane and things now are on a new level. Kieran Reilly is just off the scale on a BMX and worth checking for any of the old guard who might still have any interest in BMX. Thanks again Adam and Paul for sharing his cool collection.

I was pretty much Paul back in the 80’s. Mum got me a local classified paper BMX which I then spent all my pocket money on. Z Rims, CW bars, DiaComp single finger levers, mushroom grips, white wall tyres… all that jazz. Really wanted a GT Freestyler though. Chain jumped the sprocket one day while I was giving it the berries through the council estate, locked the wheel, launched me over the bars and I woke up in the middle of the road, sans bike and skin, blood everywhere. Found the bike 3 days later up a tree, where it landed. That was my last ride on a BMX. Then came mountain bikes in 86. The rest is history. BMXs we’re more than a bike. They were the start of a life-long obsession with anything with wheels. Loved that video. Really took me back. ✊

What a decent bloke, and I was just the same with BMX's. A posh lad I knew, his dad imported a Puch Murray BMX for him in 1980 from the states, and we were jealous as fk. So by hook or crook we all managed to get a BMX. In xmas 1981 I think it was, Halfords started selling the Raleigh Burner, and every kid wanted one for xmas, because in 82 they were everywhere. From mongoose supergoose's, Skyway's, Haro freestyler's, I had the lot, great times.

I remember the spoilt rich kid who had 2 of everything getting a Haro for Christmas, he already had a DP Firebird, I was so jealous. He offered me the frame and forks for £20 and gave me 1 week to get the money or he would sell it to another lad.. Spent the whole weekend in Sainsburys carpark collecting abandonded trolleys and returning to the other end of the carpark to get 10p coins; I made £30.00 and bought the frame, I stripped all the parts of my cheap and nasty to get it on the road and every weekend I would go back to Sainsburys to do the trolleys, earn my dough and head straight to local bike shop and buy the best parts he had, quick release MX brakes Shimano pedals, Skyway, Wheels, Layback seatpost all in Black and Red, it was a beast. I remember spending 6 weeks summer holiday with all my mates on our bikes, morning till night. Those where the days

That guy is a star, I just had a great trip down memory lane. Cheers Paul. I had a chrome skyway TA with pro class wheels and CW flat top bars. By no means a posh kid, sold everything I owned and delivered as many news papers as I could to buy it. I grew up in Farringdon, a council estate just like Paul. I could eventually wheelie the length of the estate (Allendale rd ). Sadly I sold it to fund a Mk2 Escort, but had just as much fun in that thing.

AMAZING! I'm on a load of old BMX groups on insta, Haro and Skyway and Diamond back and GT etc. It brightens my day to see a wicked old bike pop up on my feed! Zooming in on the trick parts and decals to geek out and reminisce and spot what's right or not. I'm as impressed by Paul's pushbikes as I am with his vintage superbikes. They are all amazing examples! I especially love his honesty about not being a riding God on any of his 2 wheelers... I'm the same. Amazing collection brings back a few memories that lot! I remember being in secondary school leaving my Torker in the bike shed! Come home time there would be a note sometimes cellotaped to it asking if I would sell it lol! No chance it was my baby polished it every day it was the only bmx with pedalback brakes in the school! Still miss it now!! 💕💕

Love 'em guys! As a youngster that Firebird Freestyler would of been the one for me but i was yet another Raleigh Burner kid lol. An odd one i always remember was one of the older lads in our village having a TRM Freestyler, that was a rum looking thing!!! 😃
