I am am still amazed by its ability along with playing games in native 4K. I know that the Series X & S consoles load games immensely faster than my Xbox One X. But is it enough for me to spend $500 at the moment? Let alone with no must have Series X exclusive games? I am thinking I can wait another year, maybe two. Cheers to the 9th generation!

You might want to use the included hdmi cable since the one they provide is hdmi 2.1 that lets it go up to 4k 120 fps

Downside for me is that I predominantly game on PlayStation, so I’ve yet to get around to converting my EA Play/GamePass games into a physical collection, so I’m watching this while I wait for my games to download. Adam, for batteries, been using Eneloops since 2013, never an issue, the best rechargeable batteries. I see others have already said to use the included HDMI cables, since they are HDMI 2.1. In any case, look forward to the auto-HDR on the OG Xbox games. 4 generations in 1. Game on. 👾

One nice thing about Series series is the SSD is removable. So if it dies you are not forced to replacw an entire mother board. Great feature for collectors.

First of all, thank you Adam and to your donator Bruce. I wanted a PS5 but did not get a pre-order but with some of the negatives like the small SSD storage. Let´s wait and see. The Series X was with the power for all of the XBOX games more interesting somehow but I did not want to get both because I am not playing much on the XBOX One (2013). Whats killed this idea of the Series X is I have to still download the BC games first and the need to have Gold to transer save stats. 1 TB is just to small. Looking forward to the next vidoe about the the Series X and stay safe.

I got a Xbox series X and love it.

The cable is super high speed hdmi, you'll need that if you're doing 4k 120hz. Otherwise you're choking the signal and won't get the best experience. Also if you go through a receiver or hdmi switch, they need to be compatible as well.

Best to transfer a back compatible game form a external storage device to the ssd to get the full benefits of the series x. That's what I do, just swap a change. Transfer speed is fast.

Hey I just unboxed mine, that also came from the Microsoft store! I'm glad I got lucky and got the pre-order the day they started back in September, along with the PS5 which sadly seems to be coming a few days late, but I can't complain too much. Unrelated to Xbox but this is the first time since 95 I haven’t had a PS on day one. Even the handhelds. Kinda sad but it’s just not a priority at this time. Launches for new consoles used to be such an event. Now you order and it comes to your door. I drove 3 hours to get the last PS3 preorder I could find. I miss doing that type of stuff.

I wonder if we will see in the future different series labels. For instance, if Microsoft wants to build the brand of Xbox as more than a just consoles, would we see something like 'xbox series M' that is a Windows phone or atleast an app that transforms your phone interface into Xbox ecosystem? Or' 'Xbox Series C' which is even more entry level and it's like the Google Chrome plug in that goes into TVs and it keeps you a very basic Xbox experience, but it allows you to connect to Xcloud and stream? It'll be interesting to see what they do with the Series brand.

As for your question, I’m heavily debating this generation because Sony are doing some things I personally don’t like but, they actually have physical games in Japan. But then we have Microsoft, who’s a better company, in my opinion, but has no physical games in Japan, at least so far. So we’ll have to wait and see what happens.

I remember like yesterday Adam unboxing xbox one its been 7 years.

I'm getting neither at launch. I have a PS4 Pro and about 30 games on my backlog. I also have an X1S and Game Pass Ultimate (Great Value)! So I'm also playing through a bunch of EA Play games that was added to the catalog. Good on Bruce! Now if only Sega will make that Dreamcast mini a reality.

I am still utterly annoyed that Microsoft hacked out the optical toslink connection.

I’m very fond of my Series X, the setup was super easy just plugged in my external drives and powered on the console and it just worked. My external drive had a back up file from my X and it just allowed me to apply my settings from my X and I just had to sign in. Apex Legends runs so much smoother now! My only dislikes are I like my consoles horizontal and the power button looks weird but it’s not a huge deal. My biggest let down and it’s me is the Series X is just a continuation of the One and everything is the same so it doesn’t feel like a new console experience like others have in the past. The PS5 (when it’s released in back) will probably have that feeling. Enjoy your new console!

A relative and I were discussing the Xbox Series X the other day. He mentioned that this was the first time there had been a console designed to look like a PC tower. I then told him to look up the NEC PCFX to prove that it had been done before. It felt good to share that bit of obscure knowledge.

I'm kind of transitioning from PC back to consoles again. The anemic hardware and lack of definitive games early on made me completely skip the 8th generation of consoles and go PC only, but now that there's a large backlog of great exclusive games that run backwards compatible at locked framerates and new games taking advantage of specific hardware, I'm more inclined to start building a large collection of console games over PC. This generation finally feels like it's worth it for me
