A fun run to see how fast we can take the newest RimWorld Anomaly starting scenario all the way to the Anomaly credits screen!
As mentioned in the VOD, this run is super min-maxed. It can probably be done without the crazy min-maxing, really, but I wanted to do this as just a 'fun run' to see if it was absurd. IN addition, please note that this is only a 'speed run competition' with myself. This isn't an official category. As such, I am using the 'No Pause' mod.

Idk how these do audience wise or how fun they are but I personally really enjoy these shorter runs (speedruns, rimionship,community challenges etc).

When you turn rest spots into medical beds you can assign them to slaves to stop colonists trying to use them...assuming you have no slaves.

I often "watch" these videos in background while working and one thing that constantly trips my brain is getting "deja vu" feeling beacuse of all the same, repeated questions from viewers. I often wonder "did I already watch this part?" Or is it another, same question :D I know YT is supposed to remember how much was watched but for me it doesn't always work, especially when switching accounts.

Your names in this run almost make me think of messed up warrior cat names for rimworld also I used harbinger trees a lot to reduce the amount of shamblers you'd get during the death resurrection storm event.

I WOULD LOVE IF YOU DID MORE RIMWORLD SPEEDRUNS this is so rad and seeing your brain/logic at work against a challenge is always my favorite shit also for the kids challenge PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE allow just one older kid not older than 18!! But older than 13 that is your peter pan/leader also all the kids should kill the peter pan when they turn into an actual adult at 18 turn it into a sort of pied piper situation. or worse make it 19 kids and counting situation where you only keep two adults that are married at a time.

Do you think a run where all pawns are incapable of violence, or are treated as if they were incapable of violence, would be possible? Using animals, mechs, turrets, and traps exclusively for defense? I think it should be viable lategame if you get a deadlife IED snowball effect going.

I guess you can duplicate babies if you can get to the obelisk for it. Other than that not sure how you'll recruit more.

Is there any reason not to build the entity containment with Harvester etc up front and pens behind with a straight wall and door since they can stand on the support equipment to study? Every time you do the door wart with equipment in the middle I wonder why.

If the door is touching a containment platform, the first study of that entity in any given cycle can cause the pawn studying to stand on the door itself and hold it open, even a security door. When the door is held open, even temporarily, the containment number drops for the room. I had the door flush in my first run and had that happen so often that I started offsetting it. There was later a patch that made it so this happens less often (and like I said, only if the first tick of study per cycle would position there). I go over this multiple times in every run, but I know they are long vods and easy to miss. IN addition to the above, I've also gone over how there are more efficient setups that use less shard beacons etc and that I don't really care at the moment and just like the 8x9ish I usually do.

I already answered that also in the second line. Someone the other day asked me 'What is one NON min-max NON-efficient thing that you still do in RimWorld? And my answer was that sometimes I build things just because I like how they look or for fun.

@@AdamVsEverything Ok cool, Aesthetis habit etc, good reasons. I thought you or others might like one which is the same size room but symmetrical (centred door) without the need to have the door jutting out. Thanks for replying and the content, GL!

Wouldn't it be better to have the shelves and dining table closer to both farm fields? And storage closer to the exits, with beds at the end? Pawns spend a lot of time walking back and forth, so I try to make their recurring paths as short as possible until I can afford dedicated jogger-haulers.

So for 120 stone you can wall in a geothermal and save over that much steel and 8+ components every time you don't have to rebuild it. Def not worth huh?

I had 2 geos destroyed the whole game. Neither causes a power loss. And both where when I had infinite steel and components. This is because both were already within the inner wall. So no, it didn't matter at all during this run.

@@AdamVsEverything Sorry but that's a big exaggeration. You were still trading for components even when the 2nd happened. There were at least 2 other really close calls I've seen this far too. I don't see how it's worth it from a time or material perspective. The only reasonable argument is wealth saved by not having the walls, and the little extra space to use. I think you were really lucky.

@nommy8599 seems like I am really lucky an awful lot then I guess. I put walls around them in some runs. It wasn't needed in this one. Neither of those incidents caused any issues with power. The only time I ever had power issues was when I turned 2 sunlamps on at same time late game which had nothing to do with walling them. Often I had 8-12k excess power. Even if the times they were destroyed lowered power, I had plenty to still have food etc. So no, it did not matter. I also had plenty of idle hands so the labor didn't matter. As always, it depends. If you see someone that had an entirely 'perfect' speed run where no mistakes are ever made and they cut zero corners and still get to the credits for fun feel free to point me to it. Also, I obviously can't remember every second of every run. I don't care about pointing out something someone would do differently or a mistake or whatever, but the condescending last little question is just silly. Are you pretending you are talking down to an elementary student or something or what? We can have a normal conversation online without quipping at one another, surely.

@@AdamVsEverything Agreed, nothing and no-one is ever perfect and the run so far has been very impressive. I comment to find out if there's something I'm missing and BC I always like to know or discuss potential improvements myself.

@nommy8599 And I have no problem with that. That is one of the ways I've learned most of what I know in RW. The last quip was just a small annoyance, but tone is hard to tell online. - It read to me at first as if you went to the grocery store and the cashier and you have never spoken. They bag some cans and go to pick it up and the bottom breaks. You say 'Defenitely wasn't worth double bagging, huh?' They might not like that either, depending on tone. I am sure you know what I mean lol :p of course I just woke up as well so that could also throw off perception...everything is terrible when I have to get out if bed lol
