Hey just a tip if you take out your G28 lines of code the machine won't have to go all the way home at the start and finish and looks like all your tool changes all you have to do is home it when you first turn it on. that way you won't have to wait for that z to come up and your not over working your servo for no reason

I'm just buying a j head bridgeport to make a similar conversion to yours. Did you change the x and y screws with ballscrews? What pitch? I can see you're controlling the spindle speed via a pwm on the masso, but I can't see which mechanical arrangement you adopted on the head. Do you leave it in high gear? Did you replace the original motor for a more powerful one? Like your very open and straightforward attitude in your videos. I'm glad I'm subscribed.

You may want to make sure the knee gears are very well greased with red mobil 1 synthetic grease. The knee was never intended for that much wear.

Hey John, I just ordered some clearpath servos for my J model bridgeport and going to run the same set up as you are. I have already converted my mill to win ball drive, could you tell me with your Z axis is it the original ACME shaft in there and what is the 5:1 worm drive you put in,any help would be appreciated. I will be running MASSO same as you, I just hooked up one to my CNC plasma, it appears to be the way to go now. Anyway great videos and I have been enjoying them and keep up the great work of showing people what your doing in the man cave. Thanks Richy

I am sure you have been answered this before, but what was the total cost of the CNC upgrade? Anyway to mount the stock handles on, so it could be CNC and manual?

Almost fell asleep waiting for that knee to grind its way up . Maybe you can hook the john deer up to it and that dog will hunt? Billy Bob
