There's something about the way Jack plays what would in most contexts be fine but otherwise unremarkable blues and makes it truly his own. There's just something in the voice of his playing. It's truly fantastic.

As regards music theory issues there are several substitutions - tritone, third, etc. About a year ago I've opened for myself another one. Today I do not watch world news - instead I use Jack Ruch substitution. Whoever is taking care about personal psychological health in this connection (not necessarily music lovers) and for the sake of its due reharmonization - kindly recommend.

Thanks Jack. ‘So tasty. It’s nice to hear you talk about the b6Ma7. It seems that every time I intend to use that, everyone else is thinking b6dom7. I love them both, but I guess it’s usually assumed by most that it is going to be dominant. ‘Any thoughts on that?

Great lesson! I'm not yet familiar enough with Locrian to quickly improvise a lick, but did you say in one of your videos that to play over a minor 7 flat 5 chord, you can use the Dorian mode starting a minor third up from the root of the minor 7 flat 5 chord? I thought I remember seeing that somewhere!

2-5 approach to the chord you are targeting. If I am moving to the 4 chord, I use the 2/5 of the 4 chord? Minor 2/5 if I am moving to a minor chord?

I would love an explanation how you even come up with all these terms 2-5-1s and all that 7th diminished stuff. I can’t get this in my head. Same with the CAGED and the circle of 5ths. I’m completely lost on stuff like that I will probably never leave the standard scales because of this. 😞
