GREAT, simply explained, btw you need strava premium to make those segments pop off on your garmin? or not needed

Yes. Agreed. You do have to have the premium subscription to Strava. Originally I thought it was a bit much (I’m not much for paying for apps), but there are quite a few extra features that make it totally worth a subscription for me. Most of the guys I ride with don’t subscribe, but it was worth it for things like seeing these segments and also the analytics.

Hey, Thanks for the informative video, but I still have a question. Even though I have activated Segments, set them to Strava segments und starred the segments I still can't see whetether Segment starts or not. Is this normal?

I don’t think so. There are three things I would do to try to fix it. 1. Do you have the Strava premium plan? If not, I believe they have removed this function. 2. Is your Garmin software up to date? 3. Do a full power down restart. I typically just put my Garmin to sleep in between rides, but every once in a while I have had to do a full restart to fix a glitch. Hope one of these helps!

Good instructions but some people may have to turn on segments on your garmin computer like I had to. I couldn’t understand why the segments wasn’t coming up on my rides.

Should not need to have Strava open. Just have your Garmin on and they will pop up rite there on the Garmin!

What I don't get is why you need to "star" segments before they show up. It would sound logical to me that when I design a new course and load it on Garmin, it takes along all Strava Live Segments along the route but clearly that is not a logic Garmin seems to understand

I understand that line of thought, but also know that when I had too many segments showing up that overlapped (my fault, I starred them), the Garmin could only display the data on my bike computer for one of them. So I had to constantly hit stop on the ones I didn’t want running that day. So, if it automatically grabbed all segments I went over, it could get very annoying fast. Just some of my experience.
