That is amazing, Rolandas! Can only immagine how many hours of printing and assembling that took. Great job!

Thanks,Mykola! Yeah it took about 40-50 hours to print it and to assemble it took about 3-5 hours I think :) But it was well worth it ! Great little pistol

How hard was the assembly for you? Did you have to do a lot of post printing work to make things fit or did everything fit together right away? And how reliable has it been so far? I am printing the parts right now, but my printer is not perfectly dialed in. The prints should all be strong enough, if underextrusion occurs I throw the part away and print again, but sometimes the are blobs in the corners etc

It wasnt too bad , Id say. Everything went quite well, exept the sliding part. This part must be perfect or it wont work, so i had to do quite a bit of sanding. Reliability is not so great, but it really depends on arrows/bolts. Some dont work at all, some works just fine . I found that the last arrow tends to jam, so i dont shoot it. The main problem is the string goes under the bolt somehow. Visually there is no room to go under the bolt, but it does . I even made a thicker string and this is helping, but not 100% solved the problem. Hope it helps

The thing with the design is partially true. The guy from the slingshot channel made the original design out of wood and Lukasz made a 3D printable design from it.

Yes and Lukasz made it available for everyone and also sent a built copy to Joerg at Slingshot channel for review. I know the story, coz im following the Slingshot channel for a very long time

I'm in the middle on making 2 of these. The regular version & the "noXbow version" with bow limbs. Any recommendations? Any particular parts that needs extra strength reinforcements or sanding for maximum efficiency?

You have made a good choise by choosing the bow limb version. After a few days of shooting I found that the weakest link is the string. On the rubber band version it's quite short and kinda difficult to make and you can not buy them. For the bow you will be able to buy and easily make using Dyneema rope. ( Check out the Slingshot channel for the instructions) Dyneema string life is much much longer ( I think like 5 times) than the regular ones that come with limbs . As for the prints... Everything fits nicely except the magazine ( the sliding part. I had to do quite a bit of sanding. Another and perhaps the most important thing is the trigger. Becareful! It wears out very quickly and no longer 100% holds the string . I've already had quite few " autoreleases " when the thing shots without even touching the trigger. I think this part that holds the string needs to be stronger. Ideally it would be metal. I have modified mine with the round file and is no longer straight,but more like waning crescent moon shape. It's fine now,but not for long . I will probably be modyfying by adding some aluminium . Good luck and happy safe shooting!

@@RS_ Hi, awesome quick answer. Yes I saw Jorgs video a while back about the dyneema rope and actually bought some which arrived a few days ago- Unfortunately I initially thought I had to print the bow limbs myself, but I now realize it has to be bought seperately and I struggle to find out which bow limbs will give me maximum power at a reasonable price and size. I heard the steambow stinger II and EK archery cobra pistol crossbow are good choices, but they seem a bit weak. max 50 lbs draw.

@@DKFX1 well it's actually rated by the designer at max 55-60lbs,so I'm.not sure if I wanted to go much higher. I really woul not trust the trigger if it was 60lbs or more..

@@RS_ I have a high temp printer, so I figure I can make it stronger by printing the vulnerable parts in Nylon or Polycarbonate.
@DKFX1

@@RS_ if you have issues, then consider building the vulnerable parts in some type of impact resistant PLA+. That's what the 3D community is using to print their AR-15 lower receivers from and it is supposedly a lot stronger than regular PLA in real world use cases.

How many fps with the standard arrows?

Cant remember right now, sorry. But its about the same power in Joules as these cheap pistol crossbows with glassfibre limbs . You can actually use more rubber and make it more powerfull and faster, but the 3D printed design has its limits, so you cant go crazy with that

@@RS_ interesting, because it is more compact because it does not have the wingspan of the bow. Anything I print the body in nylon CF12 to compensate for the power
