I've been using the Addi for awhile now( after I retired my sentro) a few tips I learned from trial & much error. This may help.. 1. Keep it in Circular/Tube mode. When it's in panel mode it'll stop. You run the risk of stripping your gears if you try to keep going.The stoppers are nice as training wheels.(imho). I used mine for a few projects but I didn't need them after that. >>>Contrasting painters tape works well as a stitch marker. 2. There's a few channels on repair ing & replacing your needles. 3. Put some foam on those clamps. It doesn't feel good to bump into those things. >>> Take breaks & do some knitting/handwork exercises. 4. Get your machine from an authorized seller if possible. Addi has a great warranty & will only honor them if purchased from your regions authorized merchants. Makers Mercantile is one of them for North America. 5. Use quality yarn. ( does not have to be expensive) just well made with a good twist. The looser twisted yarn always caught on my sentro & addi. My machine handles a bulky(no.6) wool blend with no issues whatsoever. These machines love & I mean 💘 quality yarn. It can Use a nice worsted. 6. Use your yarn guide. That nice piece in front of the first needles is the yarn guide. Bulky or loose knitting is that too keyhole piece. 7. Don't use the fancy novelty yarn with the bits & bobs. Or homespun. Or pure peaches & cream cotton. If you - do it likes blends- cotton + ( springy fiber) it needs the bounce. I'd say it comfortably uses 1-5 weight yarn. It likes I love this cotton from Hobby Lobby. 8. Get an Addi pattern book. Get any of Diane Levine's books. Great stuff imho. It's optional , but the Addi gives good recipe information. Honestly helpful for grading a pattern. 9. Use Thread Magic - please don't use silicon ear plugs. People have silicon & latex allergies. Thread magic is for sewing but I've used in with my sentro, addi, & hand knitting projects & it's a wonderful fiber conditioner that washes out. It helps smooth out rough yarns too. All of this is from my own experience..yours may vary. Take all lessons learned with a grain of salt. Oh & it'll click.. Oh..and Target has a smaller child's knitting machine for 40 bucks. Handles weights 1-3 ( fingering, sport, light worsted) yarn nicely. I think it's a 40 pin. No counter but a nice basic motor. Happy cranking !!

Please continue to use the Sentro also. There are not many who use it for projects. And I am a visual type I like to see how it is done in the Sentro Congratulations on the Addi I plan on getting one saving for it

Fyi you can purchase those darning needles at craft stores too in case you lose it! They’re called bent tip darning needles ☺️

The addi is fab and is normal that has that thump noise when you go across the black pins also the best thing for the addi if you knit a flat panel it counters works on both ways :) amazing

I got my addi today. The complectation was different-I had an instruction booklet with no patterns. Did not have a hook, only a needle. Now I wonder whether thats a reason I paid some 20eur less then it is sold in other places 😅

I've been watching your videos, and I really like them, thank you! I noticed you showed a pick-up tool from Addi, but mine did not come with one. Was that an extra item your Mom tucked into the box? I just bought mine on Amazon a week or so ago, and my manual is different than yours, too. Did your Addi come from somewhere other than Amazon? I wonder if I need to contact Amazon. Hmm.
