It is so hard to have a dog pass away because they become a member of the family. As a friend of mine says, the day you get a dog you know it's going to end some day. As hard as it is, it a the best deal you're ever going to get. Fifteen years of joy, and if you adobt a pound puppy, you're helping a nice dog in a bad situation. I try to adopt a new puppy every 6 or 7 years so you when that bad day comes, your other puppy helps you deal with it, and best of all, you're saving another dog and giving him / her a family. Some day, your children will want to get a dog. Kids and dogs seem to be a good responsibility teacher. Food for thought. My words of wisdom for the day. Plus, dogs love Corvette rides. :) Take care my friend.

Hi everyone, thank you all so much for watching the latest video of the DYNO from 2012. This video is of the next day adding some performance parts to her. The parts said they should add 64 horsepower. VERY doubtful but we shall see in 2020 when I get her DYNO'd again. I really appreciate your support. Have a Merry Christmas :)

I did about the same to a 1985 Corvette, a cat back was WAY more effective and made the car a solid high 13 second car.
@bonzainews
@bonzainews 4 жыл бұрын
those were some of the first mods that I did to my 1986 Corvette way back in 1992. Surprisingly the car went a little bit slower not only on my stopwatch but at the track. Completely stock my car ran 14.30 96.1 miles per hour with about 300 lb of stereo equipment(20 component speakers, 4 amps, extra 900cca battery) installed in it. Then with a cold air k&n (straight down through the bumper), air foil, slp high flow runners, hypertech, flowmaster cat back, a comp cams e-cam, the car was a little bit slower at 14.44 at 95.8. I think I lost low end torque from the bigger cam and the engine couldn't breathe to take advantage of it. My 0 to 60 slipped from 5.9 to 6.1... I chased demons all that year. Then tossed the tpi for a miniram and full exhaust and a bigger cam (stock bottom end) and went 12.36 @ 112.04 for many years without issue. Fast forward to now and it has a 420 cube SBC that's run 11.25 at over 122 untuned.

Hey Doulop, i like your content and love your car, keep it up! BTW while you're out there dolling up your corvette you should know this: Get a can of Off! Deep Woods bug spray or anything with 15% or higher DEET and spray it on a paper towel. Rub this stuff around on whateer lights seem to have that yellow tint and it rubs right off like a film. MILES better than any 'headlight cleaner' nonsense and cheaper too. I personally guarantee it. I did it on my 02 Bonneville, my 02 Firebird, and my grandpa's 03 Jetta TDI (i saw you had one but we got the turbodiesel B) ) try this out on your foglights and it'll be one of the last things you need to do before you have a showcar. Good luck, hope you take my advice (and throw me a bone and talk about it in your videos if you dont mind spreading the word) good luck with everything , hope all is well, and Happy new year!

The biggest butt dyno improvement bolt on Ive ever done on an L98 was long tube headers. It was stupid expensive (ARH required remote oil filter) but picked up some decent power. Other than that my top pick is a 6 speed shifter upgrade

@@Doulop Getting the original exhaust unbolted is a challenge. The air injection fittings have to be torched to get them out, may have to unbolt a motor mound and lift engine up a bit to get the LT's in place. Other than that its straight forward. Just expensive to do the whole exhaust at once to match up with long tubes. The short throw shifters for the ZF 6 speed C4 transmission is a nice upgrade. Last one I did shifted nicer than my T56 short throw!

@@Doulop My heart goes out to you, friend. If I had to park Lucy for the winter, I would sell her. We took a rode trip through the foothills in my '96 yesterday. Sunny and 60. 15 month old Optispark made it all the way home. LOL. As far as "modding" goes, I don't. The things I buy from Corvette sites are OEM parts that fix what failed. Wear items like weatherstrip or front air dams. Or, looky there, the headlight motor died again. I like my C4 just the way it rolled off the floor in Bowling Green, saw blades and all. If I feel the need for more horsepower, I'll move on to the C6. There is more than enough stuff in need of attention on a 24 year old chevy to keep my wrenches (and wallet) busy. The difference between you and I is that you have/had an OCD concerning the finish and shine of it's outer millimeter or less. I on the other hand, drive my '91 year round in Michigan.. weather permitting of course. If she were YOUR car, you would be abhorred by a deer running into the side of your cherry Vette.. as was I. Her name actually is Wild Cherry because she is all original with low miles. But a deer busted my fender.. which means it busted my entire hood as you know. I'm going to put some duct tape on her and go country cruising again. I don't sweat the small stuff. This car is meant to be driven more than looked at.. by ME anyway.. imho. I cannot see the crack from the cockpit and it does not effect her handling. From the inside, she is just as good as she was before.. and I don't care if she is not as pretty on the outside. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.. and Wild Cherry still looks good with a scar.. to me anyway.
